With Ohio State entering its second year of probation, college football odds makers are keen on the Buckeyes hated rival, Michigan, winning the Big Ten in 2012. The latest 2012 Big Ten Football Championship Odds have the Wolverines listed as a +200 moneyline favorite to capture the conference title. Nebraska, one of Michigan’s Legends Division adversaries, is the second pick to win the league at +250 odds (risk $100 to win $250).
Big Ten Favorites
Michigan Wolverines (+200): Michigan surprised fan and pundit alike last season, closing out the season with an 11-2 record after defeating Virginia Tech 23-20 in the Sugar Bowl. Given that finish, it will be a shock if the team is unable to build on last year’s success, especially with quarterback Denard Robinson and 15 other starters still under the watch of Head Coach Brady Hoke.
Nebraska Cornhuskers (+250): The Cornhuskers inaugural Big Ten season was a success as they put together a 9-4 record, but it still failed to live up to expectations. Nebraska’s ample fan base is hoping for better this season, and if the odds makers are correct they may be rewarded. The Huskers, like the Wolverines, return 16 starters, and they too feature a dual threat quarterback in Taylor Martinez.
Wisconsin Badgers (+285): The Badgers topped the Leaders Division last season with an 11-3 record and they won the conference with a 42-39 win over Michigan State in the conference championship game. Wisconsin lost 11 starters in the offseason, though, including quarterback Russell Wilson.
