UFC on FUEL TV: Korean Zombie vs. Poirier Fight Predictions, Odds and Start Time

UFC on FUEL TV: Korean Zombie vs Poirier
is slated for an 8:00pm ET start time on Tuesday, May 15th at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. The 12 fight card is being head lined by battle between featherweight contenders Chan Sung Jung and Dustin Poirier. The latest UFC Odds have Poirier listed as a -340 moneyline favorite to win tomorrow’s main event. Amir Sadollah (-200), Donald Cerrone (-300), Tom Lawlor (-250), Fabio Maldonado (-145), and Yves Jabouin (-220) are UFC Fight Predictions favorites in the top undercard match-ups.

While tomorrow’s meeting between Chan Sung Jung, better known as the Korean Zombie, and Dustin Poirier does not feature a belt on the line, it should lack nothing in terms of excitement. Jung, who is coming off back-to-back wins over Leonard Garcia and Mark Hominick, is a relentless striker with an iron chin and he is more than willing to absorb punishment in order to inflict it. Poirier, a 23 year old submission artist out of Lafayette, Louisiana, rides a five fight win streak into tomorrow’s fight. Should he finish Jung “The Diamond” may earn a shot at the winner of July’s showdown between featherweight champion Jose Aldo and top contender Erik Koch.

Jung, who owns seven career submissions and three KO/TKO finishes, should have a puncher’s chance in this scarp. In 15 career fights he has only been finished one time and, as evidenced by the number of submission victories he owns, he is no slouch on the ground. But his game plan in tomorrow’s fight will be to stand and bang. He pulled off a major surprise last December by knocking out Mark Hominick just seven seconds into the first round, a result Poirier’s camp, no doubt, reviewed in prepping for the Zombie.

“The Diamond”, who, according to Fightmetric.com averages 2.42 submissions every 15 minutes in the cage, probably sees the ground as the easiest route to victory given Jung’s rock hard chin. While Poirier possesses plenty of knock out power, it could be argued, rather effectively, that his biggest advantage is on the mat.

UFC Fight Predictions: Not many people want to risk $340 to win $100, but Poirier should win this fight. Perhaps the best route would be to parlay Poirier and Donald Cerrone together to reduce the hit in the event of a loss.

Dustin Poirier (-340) vs Chan Sung Jung (+260)
Amir Sadollah (-200) vs Jorge Lopez (+160)
Donald Cerrone (-300) vs Jeremy Stephens (+240)

Yves Jabouin (-220) vs Jeff Hougland (+160)
