The NBA Playoffs continue on Friday night as the Memphis Grizzlies travel to take on the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 6. The game is scheduled for a 9 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds have the Grizzlies favored by less than a bucket at 1.5 points with the total sitting at 179 points.
Free Analysis: The Clippers currently hold a 3-2 series lead and are at home for tonight's game, yet the Grizzlies are favored. That's an interesting line considering the Clippers opened as a favorite by the same spread. Memphis picked up a 12-point win against LA in Game 5, which saw the Clippers score just 80 points in the contest. We know Blake Griffin and Chris Paul are going to be banged up heading into tonight's game, so that might be the reason for the line movement so far prior to this game. Reports have said they both will be game-time decisions, but with a chance to advance in the playoffs, I'm sure they'll be on the floor. A win tonight would clinch the Clippers' third series ever as a franchise. What's nice for them is that the game is being played at the Staples Center, where they finished with a 24-9 record overall. That place will probably be rocking having not clinched a playoff series in awhile, 2006 to be exact. Prior to that, it was 30 years since they last advanced in the post season. Some more good news for the Clippers is that only eight teams all time have rallied from a 3-1 deficit to win a playoff series. Memphis would have to win tonight and Sunday to clinch the series. Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph have been bruising inside and if Griffin can't go or isn't close to 100 percent, they could continue to dominate inside. A big concern for Memphis might be their scoring, however. The Grizz rolled up nearly 60 points in the opening half of Game 5 but mustered less than 40 in the second half. I know the Clips are banged up, but Memphis is going to have to put two halves together in order to come back to win the series. Oh, and to the winner? The San Antonio Spurs.
Free Pick: We've got to take the Grizzlies here based on the line movement. The sharp bettors seem to know more than us regulars and because the line has moved two points toward the underdog to make them the favorite, it's probably the smart bet. We're assuming Griffin isn't going to be the same inside so Gasol and Randolph will probably be able to mash it up inside. I think they force a seventh game in this series with a win tonight on the road.
