Indiana Hoosiers at Ohio State Buckeyes Start Times, Odds and Free Pick

Indiana at Ohio State (Odds -27 ½) Start Time NOON Big Ten TV: Free College Football Pick: 4* Ohio State (-27 ½): Following last week’s victory on this field vs Wisconsin, you can now add Ohio State to our list of SUPER SURGERS. At the beginning of the year they had just 8 RS due to the resignation of former HC Tressel, the defection of QB Pryor, and the five game suspension of other key RS.  New HC Fickell struggled out of the gate as expected.  After 6 games, his Buckeyes were 3-3 SUATS. They were in position for a first to worst season. Then QB Miller emerged, the suspended players returned, and they pulled consecutive upsets at Illinois and vs Wisconsin. Now they need that blow-out win to substantiate their confidence for the stretch run.  Hello, Hoosiers!   This made-to-order opponent has totally TOSSED THE TOWEL.  At 1-8 SU, 3-6 ATS, they enter on a 6 game losing streak. Against 5 Big Ten opponents, they have allowed them to rush 247/1353 for 5.5 YPR.  Three of the last four teams have rushed for 308 or more yards.  They are 0-3 ATS in those games.  Remember that when a CFB team outrushes their opponent by a greater than 2 to 1 margin, they are 170-43 ATS (80%) including 83-13 ATS (86%) in the last 4 weeks.  Expect Ohio State to dominate this inferior foe at the point of attack, get the feel good win, and cover this fair point spread.

Syracuse at Connecticut (Odds -2) Start Time NOON ESPNU: College Football Pick: 3* Syracuse (+2): In the inaugural “Paul Pasqualoni Bowl” (formerly coached Syracuse, now coaches UConn) we are siding with the visitor. UConn is the reigning Big East champ. With 16 RSs, more was expected in the first year of their new coach.  But they stand 3-5 SU, 2-6 ATS.  They have a probable shot of going from the Penthouse to the Outhouse.  That is, to finish last in the Big East this season.  Under previous HC Edsall, this team rushed for at least 171/4.2 the previous three seasons.  This year, the OL is a major problem.  They are keying a ground attack that averages just 119/3.0 and allows 30 sacks. Enter a Syracuse team who is playing with far more hope. Led by Senior QB Nassib (65% C, 16/4 ratio) they have the confidence of a 5-3 SU record. Though they enter off a loss at Louisville, they are a decent 10-4 ATS in that role under current HC Marrone.  In a battle of two teams heading in opposite directions, we follow the more motivated Orange as underdog.
