College Football Picks: Florida at Kentucky & Oregon at Arizona

Florida (-19-) at Kentucky 7:00 PM EST ESPN: A quick comparison of the KC Chiefs offense last year and this can show you the value of OC Weis.  Now, he has brought his talents to “The Swamp” where he has re-instilled confidence into QB Brantley who is leading a Gator offense that is a proud member of our 200 Club.  The passion and intensity of new HC Muschamp (former DC at Texas) is doing the rest.  The Gator defense is in a frenzy.  They allow just 9 PPG, 209 YPG, and 3.5 YPPL.  That includes a strong showing last Saturday against rival Tennessee who they held to 279 net yards.  Kentucky poses no offensive threat.  Against rebuilding Louisville, they only put up 290 yards, 35 overland, in a 24-17 loss.  For the season, they score just 19 PPG on 275 yards.  The Gators have owned this team of late including 48-14 LY.  Their front 7 overwhelms Wild Cat QB Newton.  All purpose play-maker Rainey has a huge day.

Oregon (-15) at Arizona 10:15 PM EST ESPN2: This is not an easy place to play, especially in the role of road chalk.  Current Arizona HC Stoops stands 9-3 ATS HD.  But this team closed last season at 5-7 SU, 6-5 ATS including losing their last 5 games and finishing on a 2-8 ATS run.  This year with just 5 RS on each side of the ball and total rebuilt OL and DL, they are struggling out of the gate.  They fooled no one with an opening day win vs. Northern Arizona.  Against stiffer competition in the last 2 weeks, Ok State and Stanford, they have been outscored 74-24 losing by a combined 26 points AFP.  Each of those games was in the same price range as is this one.  Following their opening week loss to LSU, Oregon has returned home to regroup and gain confidence.  They have done just that in outscoring out-manned Nevada and SWMO State by a combined count of 125-27 in which they averaged 642 YPG.  Arizona QB Foles can’t do it alone.  Look for the balanced, explosive Duck attack to be eager to make amends for their LSU showing against their first quality opponent since that loss.
