Game 7 NHL Finals Betting Odds: Boston Bruins at Vancouver Canucks

Tonight the Stanley Cup will be given away as the Boston Bruins face-off against the Vancouver Canucks in Game 7 with coverage beginning at 8 p.m. on NBC. The Boston Bruins have never played in a Game 7 situation despite winning five Stanley Cups. The Canucks have played in a Game 7 situation before, but fell to the New York Rangers in 1994 which saw this happen.

Betting Odds

Vancouver Canucks -145 (Wager $145 to win $100)

Odds of winning are at 59.18% with this moneyline.

Boston Bruins +130 (Wager $100 to win $130)

Odds of winning are at 43.48% with this moneyline.

Total: 5 (UNDER -125, OVER +105)

Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks were the best team in the NHL during the regular season, sporting a 54-19-9 record and winning the President's Trophy by finishing with 117 points. They were the only team in the NHL this season to win 50+ games. All of that is now behind them. So are the first six games of this year's Stanley Cup Finals, which have been arguably the best Finals in a long time. With each team flexing their muscles in their home arenas, neither road team has been able to win a game. The Canucks are going to have to play well to back up with Daniel Sedin had to say. "We're going to win Game 7," Sedin said. "We're 3-3 and we won all three games at home and we have the fourth game at home," he said of the series, according to the report. "So we have the seventh game at home and we'll take that. We are confident." He's got a point. If we look at the three games played in Vancouver during the finals, we see very low-scoring and close games. The games played in Boston weren't exactly close. I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin.

Games 1, 2 and 5 in Vancouver:

Goals scored: Vancouver 5, Boston 2

Games 3, 4 and 6 in Boston:

Goals scored: Boston 17, Vancouver 3

Boston Bruins

Let's take a moment to congratulate Tim Thomas on a very successful NHL Finals. Thomas has proven himself more than worthy to be in a Game 7 situation to win his team a Stanley Cup. Captain Zdeno Chara has also brought a very physical game during the finals and it has shown. Boston has also rallied behind the nasty hit on Nathan Horton, a 26-goal scorer during the regular season. Vancouver's Mason Raymond is also going to be out for tonight's game after a fracture in his back. David Krejci and Milan Lucic both will have to play well tonight if the Bruins come out with their sixth Stanley Cup. Boston obviously doesn't have the most skilled players on the ice in this series but that has proved to not be that big of a deal. The Bruins have played a physical game and have been able to take advantage of that in each game, even though the series is tied at 3-3. If Boston slows down the game tonight and takes advantage of small situations where Vancouver is caught without their best line on the ice, they will have an excellent chance to win tonight.

Game 7 notes

Home teams in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals have a 12-3 record with the 2009 Detroit Red Wings being the last team to fall at home in the decisive game. Vancouver has lost their only Game 7 Finals appearance in 1994 to the New York Rangers while the Boston Bruins have not played in such a game during a Finals appearance.

Official plays: Vancouver Canucks -145 and UNDER 5

Getting the Canucks at a pretty good price at home in the final game of this series is important. The UNDER is getting hammered by juice and it's not the best value bet, but I definitely think this will be a low-scoring game. The Canucks have the better team and they are a very different team at home.

Comments. . .What are your thoughts on tonight's game?
