110 Washington (-160) 5Dimes vs 109 Stanford
dime bet
Analysis:I'm playing the ML smaller - thought about 2* on the -3 - which is probably fine - maybe split the bet between the two - I just don't like taking chances - and I'd buy it to -2.5 anyway - which may cost enough, to some people, to just play the ML - this is Washington's chance to avenge three straight losses to Stanford, for starters. They haven't played a great schedule, which is one caveat, but they did win a road conference game at Arizona last week. It took the OT to do it when they were heavily favored, but a win is a win. Stanford hasn't been putting up big offensive numbers - another reason I like the ML because this should be a low scoring game. It's Stanfords' defense that I see as somewhat vulnerable since they've allowed opponents to convert 42% of their third downs, and you can't score as well without the ball as you can with the ball. I like what Jake Browning is doing - he's thrown 14 TD's to only 2 picks, and last season as a Freshman he threw 16 TD's with 10 picks on the season. Chico McClatcher is averaging 22 yards a catch, so Washington can stretch the field, which is something they haven't been able to do over the years. So, they're less one-dimensional. I do hate to bet against McCaffrey, but the kid has 79 rushes already and is their leading receiver - sooner or later that's gonna bite Stanford, and probably on the road. Stanford has thrown exactly three touchdown passes this season - Stanford must have expended a ton of energy coming back to beat Cal, a game they probably should have lost - and they were held out of the end zone til the fourth quarter, and if that happens here, Washington's defense is FAR superior to that of UCLA's (IMO, of course). Friday NIGHT game in Washington - expect a energetic crowd as the Huskies' up side is still huge this season as they have a CHANCE to win every game if they can win at Oregon (I think they will) and beat Utah on the road - so, they're still under the radar nationally, but not in Seattle.Pick Made: Sep 28 2016 8:26AM PST
