Analysis:I'm backing the Washington Nationals on Monday as they shoot for their 10th straight home win. So many advantages on the side of the Nats in this one. Doug Fister has been much better at home this season than on the road, sporting a decent 3.69 home ERA & 1.17 WHIP. Fister will look to continue the dominant stretch by Washington's starting rotation and he's backed by a top-11 bullpen. Fister owns a 1.29 ERA in a pair of starts against the Reds. Cincy is not likely to find the "sweet elixir" after scoring just six runs while getting swept in three games by the Brewers. Anthony DeSclafani goes for the Reds and he's in a tough spot. The young right-hander has allowed 51 hits and 14 walks in his last seven starts, spanning 43 1/3 IP, for a hefty 1.50 WHIP. He's also coming off a 122-pitch effort, forced to "take one for the team," or in this case, a bullpen that was worn out and looking for a break. Whether the pen is rested or not, the fact is, they're one of the five worst pens in MLB. Cincy enters having won just 13 of their last 59 as a road dog, while the Nats are on a 37-14 run at home against teams with a losing record and they're 12-2 when Fister is listed as home chalk. I'm backing the Nationals, my Heavy Hitter on Monday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.Pick Made: Jul 6 2015 1:19AM PST
