double-dime bet
Analysis:8:10pm ET - 5:10pm PT / #906San Francisco Giants with Volgelsong @ Milwaukee Brewers with Gallardo2** Play on: UNDER the TOTALTake two starting pitchers in great current form. Add two teams with recent low-scoring tendencies. Sprinkle in some additional UNDER team trends. Top it off with an Umpire that's gone UNDER in six straight games. Add 'em all together... and you get a LOW-scoring outcome in Wednesday's Game Two of the San Francisco / Milwaukee series. The BEST 'Under' Umpire on the Wednesday Major League Baseball schedule will be working behind the dish in Beertown tonight. That would be HAL GIBSON III. He comes in with a solid 7-15-1 O/U record on the year (68% Unders). He averages a lot of 'punch outs' on the season (16.3 K's per game). And he doesn't allow a lot of 'free passes' (5.7 walks per game). We save the best for last. Since the beginning of June, Gibson has gone a PERFECT 0-6 O/U in his last six games. The Total combined runs during that 6-game stretch has been 3... 3... 5... 6... 8... and 5. That's a very LOW average of only 5.0 RPG during that 6-game 'Under' streak. This relatively NEW Major League Umpire (only been in action a year and a half) has now gone 8-21-1 O/U for his entire career...After last night's UNDER in Game One, this Brewers / Giants series has now gone 1-4 O/U in the last five meetings... with an average of only 5.8 combined RPG.The host BREWERS have now gone 2-8 O/U in their last ten games. They've also gone 3-9 O/U in their last 12 vs right-handed starters (1-6 O/U at HOME)... and 0-5 O/U as home favs of -150 or less. The visiting GIANTS have gone 15-32-4 O/U dating back to last season on the road versus opponents with > .500 home record... 2-6-2 O/U in their last 10 games overall... 1-5-1 O/U in their last 7 road games... and 0-4-1 O/U in their last 5 underdog roles. BREWER starting pitcher Yovanni Gallardo is in super sharp current form. His ERA on the year is 3.38. in the last three games, it's only 1.74. He comes in off a stretch in which he has allowed 2 or less earned runs in SEVEN of his last ten starts. In fact, he's n his best form of the season. in EACH of his last two starts... he's allowed ZERO earned runs and went 7+ innings in both of those starts (5-0 win and 3-2 loss). We must ALSO note that Gallardo has gone 1-7 O/U in his last 8 starts vs these very same San Francisco Giants (ERA of 1.86). His counterpart for the GIANTS is Ryan Voglesong. Also in GREAT current form. He's allowed 3 or less earned runs in EACH of his last seven starts dating back to late June. His ERA during this 6-week time frame has been only 2.86. He's allowed only two total home runs in his last ten starts. And he's also off his BEST start of the season. He just pitched a complete game 2-hit 9-inning SHUTOUT on the road versus the New York Mets last weekend. In his career, Volgelsong has been a fantastic 'UNDER Underdog'. He's gone 5-21-1 O/U in the last 2+ seasons as an underdog. Also 1-5 O/U on Wednesdays... 2-9 O/U in Game two of a series... and 1-5 O/U versus the NL Central Division.Pick Made: Aug 6 2014 9:13AM PST
