925 DET (-114) 5Dimes vs 926 KAN
double-dime bet
Analysis:I'm backing the Detroit Tigers on Friday night. We had the Tigers on these pages last night and cashed in their 16-4 blowout win. While Victor Martinez still remains out in all likelihood, Detroit hasn't missed a beat. J.D. Martinez & Torii Hunter are red-hot at the plate. Martinez is hitting .429 in his last nine games, while Hunter is batting an even better .485 in his last eight games with 3 home runs and 13 RBI. They'll face Danny Duffy tonight and while the lefty has decent numbers on the season, he was roughed-up a tad in his most recent start. He's facing a bear of a lineup tonight. The Tigers enter on a 4-0 run at "The K," out-scoring the Royals 42-12. Detroit has had little trouble with pitchers of Duffy's quality, posting a 14-4 run in their last 18 against pitchers with a WHIP under 1.15. They're also on an 8-0 run against teams with a winning mark. Meanwhile, the Royals will have to deal with Anibal Sanchez who has a 1.04 ERA in six starts against KC. Royal All-Star Salvador Perez is 0-for-12 against the Tiger righty and Alex Gordon is sidelined with a wrist injury. KC is 3-15 at home against teams playing better than .600 baseball on the road and they're on a 1-6 slide when Duffy is listed as an underdog. The two key situations (Detroit 14-4 & KC 3-15) add up to a 29-7 combined mark. I'm backing the Detroit Tigers, my Friday Night KNOCKOUT. Thanks & GL!
