974 SEA / 973 MIN Under 7 William Hill
double-dime bet
Analysis:10:10pm ET - 7:10pm PT / #974Minnesota Twins w/ Hughes @ Seattle Mariners w/ Young2** Play on: UNDER the TOTALGame Three:In last night's Game One of this Minnesota / Seattle series, the final score was just 2-0 as both teams combined for only 9 hits. And we'll be looking for another low-scoring outcome on Tuesday night. Especially with a Man in Blue that's averaged LESS than 6 runs-per-game this season! When umpire KERWIN DANLEY is calling balls and strikes, MLB teams are combining to score an average of just 5.33 runs per game. That is the LOWEST average runs for any umpire with at least 10 games at home plate. Not surprisingly comes in with a 3-11 O/U for the season. This isn't just a trend for this season. It's been his strong UNDER 'modus operandi' in the last two years. In Danley's last 53 games as the home plate umpire, the under is an incredible 41-10-2. That's an amazing 80% of his games that have gone UNDER. Danley has NOT gone 'Over' in a game since early May. In that time span, he's gone a PERFECT 0-8 O/U... with a microscopic average of only 4.1 combined RPG. And in his American League games this season, Danley has gone a perfect 0-4 O/U.Combine Danley's great historical UNDER numbers with starting pitcher Chris Young of the Mariners, and you get an AUTOMATIC play. That's because Young is currently the BEST 'Under' pitcher in all of Major League Baseball for guys who have made at least five starts. He comes in with a 3-12-1 O/U record on the year... and an ERA of 3.18. And in our favor, Young has been an even better pitcher at home. In fact, he has yet to go OVER in a home start this season (0-7-1 O/U with an ERA of only 2.19). He's allowed 2 or less earned runs in each of his last four starts (ERA of 1.44). This game almost made it as a King Creole 3*** BEST BET. But we have to back off ever so slightly given the recent form of Phil Hughes of the Twins. he has not looked very sharp in his last three starts,so we have to downgrade to as normal 2** Play. But we DO note that Hughes has had great success and great numbers 'In this park'. When pitching IN Seattle. Hughes has had a lifetime ERA of only 0.90 in three starts covering 20 innings.
