957 NYM (+178) 5Dimes vs 958 ATL
dime bet
Analysis:The Braves are playing well and have a hot starter going in Julio Teheran. But it's dangerous to lay a huge number with Atlanta. Only two teams have scored fewer runs than Atlanta this season. The Braves are reduced to small ball without Evan Gattis, who along with Justin Upton are the team's only serious long ball threats. Atlanta also is unlikely to have star closer Craig Kimbrel, who has pitched during the past three days. The Mets are more dangerous than they appear. They have either won or lost by just one run in nine of their last 13 games. Right-hander Jacob deGrom will start for New York. Atlanta is 2-7 the past nine times when facing a right-hander at home. The Braves have lost seven of the last 10 times, too, when they were favored at home. Like most young pitchers, deGrom has been inconsistent. But he's fighting to stay in New York's starting rotation and has looked good in his last two starts, including shutting out the Marlins on five hits in seven innings during a 4-0 victory on June 21. The Braves have never faced deGrom, which is to their disadvantage. Pick Made: Jul 2 2014 3:31AM PST
