917 DET (-125) William Hill vs 918 HOU
double-dime bet
Analysis:I'm backing the Detroit Tigers on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers enter on an 8-1 run, overall, and they're 6-1 in their last seven at Minute Maid Park. They'll send left-hander Drew Smyly to the mound in this one with "left-hander" being the key note. The Astros have won just 15 of their last 54 against southpaws and face Smyly at the wrong time. The Detroit hurler has a sizzling 1.44 ERA in his last four starts. Houston will counter with Scott Feldman and the righty certainly doesn't instill confidence in the home team. He has not pitched well at home and he's been tagged for a 6.43 ERA & 1.43 WHIP in daytime action this season. I expect another rough outing for the righty, facing the red-hot Ian Kinsler, not to mention the usual suspects in the Tiger lineup, including Miguel Cabrera & Victor Martinez. Besides the situations mentioned above, Houston enters on a 0-4 slide when Feldman starts against teams with a winning record and they're 23-49 in their last 72 as a home underdog. I'm backing the Tigers, my Road Warrior. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.Pick Made: Jun 29 2014 2:36AM PST
