721 Utah State at Air Force
The Aggies of Utah State get their initial taste of the Mountain
west Conference with a trip to Colorado Springs. Luckily for the
visitor they get to take on a bottom dweller to start the league
season. Utah State has won 20 or more games in 14 straight years
and they look to be a contender for the upper echelon of the
conference. This is a team that averages a whopping 17.6 assists
per game and shoots an effective field goal percentage of 56.0%.
The Aggies are a good rebounding team that has already won on the
road at Cal Santa Barbara and Weber State. Being from Logan also
reduces the altitude factor for the host.
Air Force just isn't a very good team this year and their
pre-conference schedule has been a bit of a joke. Despite a 7-5
record the only good team they played was Colorado and they lost
that contest by 24 points at home. While the Falcons shoot the ball
pretty well this is a very poor rebounding club. Now that Air Force
enters league play we expect the losses to mount.
