Analysis: This line is way too out of whack setting up a run line play on the Mets.

True, the Braves are trying to set a major league record of 23 consecutive wins by a team in one pitcher's starts with Kris Medlen. He's been briliant since healing from a serious arm injury.

So on the surface this seems like standing in front of a rollling train. But there are things to keep in mind. Medlen is going to be on a pitch count as the Braves get ready for the playoffs. This is Chipper Jones' final home regular season game so that means a distraction. There really is little for the Braves to play for since they are locked into the first wildcard. This is party time for them.

The Mets have been playing well. They've won seven of their last nine. Jenry Mejia is pitching for New York. He has great talent, but is on the comeback trail following Tommy John surgery. He won his last game allowing four hits in five scoreless innings versus Pittsburgh this past Monday. He has a lot of incentive to build on that performance to earn a spot in the Mets' 2013 starting rotation.

The oddsmaker is anticipating a pitching duel with a low total. So taking a soild plus price with 1 1/2 runs is huge.
