List Haren & Liriano
As a member of the Twins, Francisco Liriano has faced these
Angels hitters three times already this season. That should
give the Angels offense a nice edge here; not that they need an
edge. They own a .322 average & .999 OPS against Liriano
in those three outings. That's not a fluke. In 120
career plate appearances against Liriano, these Angels hitters have
produced a healthy .347 average & 1.001 OPS.
Dan Haren may not be the Dan Haren of seasons past, but he has
pitched better in his two starts since the All-Star break. In
those two starts, Haren owns a 2.25 ERA & 1.00 WHIP. The
White Sox hitters haven't faced Haren this season, and they only
had 18 at-bats against him last season. Those 18 at-bats
produced just five singles. That's a .556 OPS.
The Angels are one of the top teams in MLB against lefties and
they hit Liriano very well. The White Sox are a
middle-of-the-pack team against righties and they don't have a good
track record against Haren.
