Vulnerable Teams for Monday
Tallet imploded against KC in his last outing, and the key here is that he has not gotten past the 6th inning against anyone this year. Word on the street is that teams are dialing in on him, and that doesn't bode well for a guy that tends to exhaust 93 pitches by the 5th. Fourteen of 26 Royal batters reached base, THAT'S A SIGN THAT YOU MUST NOT TAKE THE JAYS.
But we can look at the Bullpen: We need to have Downs on our list, but he's thrown for three consecutive days, so don't expect to see him tossing tonight. He owns the Indians, and he's useless to us tonight. The rest of the available pen for the Jays is NOT strong against the Tribe (2 of them are young kids and the rest of them hover around a .300 Batting Average VS Cleveland).
THERE IS NO REASON TO FEEL CONFIDANT ABOUT TOTONTO'S PITCHING STAFF TONIGHT.
I don't think I would fade Grienke at this stage of the game. His numbers don't deserve any harsh words. But Chicago sat a few guys last night, and most of that batting order has ripped Zack during his tenure in the league.
Here's a few Sox batters VS Zack:
Dye (Hand): .389 BA
Podsednik: .450 BA
Pierzynski: .357 BA
Thome: .970 OPS
Quientin: .300 BA/1.400 OPS
Betimit: .500 (tiny sample)
Wise: 1.000 OPS (small sample)
The "sight lines" must be good...the scouting reports must be VERY good. Just be careful..........
I'll try to find more as the day passes........I'll wait on lineups at 6 PM before I wager any money.
KM, Did you play only the first 5 or did you also get Cleveland for the game?
There's been a few games with a lot of runs scored in the extra frames this year already.
Toronto's reliever's blew it so we were good there....Zack was great again...so that warning really didn't help.
Alwaysgambling: Just a change of pace, nothing more. When the paid plays come out I'll go back to the forum posts.
Kevin why have you been writing in a blog instead of posting?
So all the righties are hitting Carmona for the first time this year, and Tallet cant hit the strike zone, but Cleveland keeps hitting his crap......it appears that Fausto is still a pitcher that we need to question, although the error didn't help.......You may see me staying away from Cleveland for most of the year. It's hard to find an angle that supports them for an entire game.
You can just take that information as a test to see if Fausto is back on track.....He's being given Righties and an Umpire that is Average. So, according to a technical approach. He SHOULD hold his own against Tallet. You can lay no money, and still learn from a game......Look for Fausto to have command of the inside of the right handers. If he's 80% back, then he CAN force the grounders and pop ups at will on the right......let's see what happens.
I have live money on Fausto, but don't want you to get into a guessing match here......Do what you want.
This sort of research is exciting to me....its a wait and see wager, ok?
Sorry for this hectic analysis, but was away from the computer too long......Look...Fausto can really hug a right hander with his best stuff, so he forces the grounder on the right...he can't do that on the lefty...and that's one of the reasons by KC ripped him last year...I think they run a large number of lefties and switches on a guy like Fausto.....
For some reason....Toronto has loaded the Righties.
This gives us the edge with Fausto, ok?
Just a five innning wager, but.......
Cleveland could cover that number...
I just took Cleveland -105 for the 1st 5 innings
There are only 3 left handers in the Toronto lineup tonight....WOW!
He can own the right handers at .159 BA, but the Left bats something like .343!!!!!!
So this lineup may suit Fausto?????
I'm probably taking Carmona in the first 5 innings over Tallet.......
Bear with me....
But otherwise...Bill is not an OVER Ump......
Bill Welke: Fausto lost 8-3 to KC last season....hang on...ok
Great stuff as usual KM!
You need an Umpire for that Toronto/Tribe OVER. (They get released at 6-6:30 PM EST)
