CONVERSATION:

Do you think there’s gambling value when basketball’s best meet in the 2011 All-Star Game? Many dismiss such games – but many Las Vegas professional bettors find great value with games in which motivation is the deciding factor.

Does Kobe play harder being at home in Los Angeles? If so, does that mean there’s betting value with the Western Conference as the underdog?

  • Niiiice

  • I love cashing AND feeling smart!

  • Nice call on the West and Kobe. I put a small play on Kobe in the Staples Center. Glad I did!

  • sorry, meant West +2.5 - thanks

  • West is +2.5, it was just a typo in the blog

  • West -2.5?

  • I think there's value on the west because they have more players who haven't played in the game before, as well as younger players who will have a chip on their shoulder.  Any game has value if you can find an edge in it, be it anything from exhibition baseball to super bowls to an all star game.  I don't think Kobe playing the game in LA will have much of an impact because he always brings max effort, especially when going against other great players.

  • Line up to West -2.5 in some spots!

  • I actually really like the West here . . . I can't imagine Kobe not putting on a show . . . hard to believe with it being such chalk, but I see value in Kobe at 5-1 to be MVP.
