Saturday was one to remember!First, poker at the Bellegio mid-afternoon . . . 2-5 NL . . . Marco DAngelo to my left. I was under-the-gun, and made it $15 with 99 . . . one other player called, and Marco called in the big blind. Flop came 79J all hearts.I had a set, but a scary board was out there for sure.I bet $25, middle player folded, and Marco called.Turn came 2 of spades.Now here is a key play: If you have the set, slightly under bet the turn, giving flush draws a reason to call . . . sure, sometimes they will get there . . . but others, theyll hit the flush when you fill up allowing you to stack them.So with $100 in the pot, I bet $50 . . . after a delay, Marco called.River came 2 of hearts!!!!Four hearts on the board, but I was full.Marco goes all in for $250 I instant called, and took down a monster.JQuite the thrill . . . but in all fairness, Marco is quite the player, and getting better every day. In fact, hes gotten the best of me heads up since moving to Vegas.Vegas-Runner met us at 7 . . . and after watching for a few rounds, we cashed out and walked to an outdoor caf on the strip to talk. We hashed out some exciting future projects that you guys will be hearing lots about.We ate at Il Mulino in Caesars the best Italian in the city bar none. And I have to say as knowledgeable as VR is about sports betting, hes equally as funny, and makes for great dinner company. A truly special man.After, VR had to head back to do Sundays capping (yes, hes a 365 day a year guy!).Marco and I played more cards, and the room was really jumping. Ive lived in Vegas for over 10 years, but theres still such a thrill seeing table after table with thousands of dollars in action on each!Just that night we saw Johnny Chan, David Sklansky, and Sammy Farha around the room.I dragged myself home about 3 am . . . and woke up at 7 am to be on the boards with all of you!
Yes indeed it was quite a night. Nothing is better than Great food shared with Great Friends. I can say that the things we have planned at pregame are going to blow you guys away. The icing on the cake is the projects that will have Ace & I working together on. Exciting times ahead for team Pregame.
First, Thanks RJ for one of the BEST dinners I have ever had here in Vegas. I had heard of the place and my wife has been busting my balls to go and it was just awesome.
But even better than the food and the atmosphere was the company. Even though I have gotten a chance to meet with these guys a lot, especially since Marco has moved out here, Saturday was one of the best times we have had together.
Even though we got a chance to discuss the future and I agree with you 100% that as we go forward, the members of Pregame will be equally impressed by just how many projects are in the works and you guys all know that unlike most people with grand idea's...these guys make it happen and get it done, so I am so excited and lucky to have found a home here at Pregame and to have the opportunity to work with both, RJ and Marco...
Its like I have known them my entire life and I am a pretty good judge of character which has helped me a lot in my life and these 2 are as genuine and stand up as they come and its a privilage to work with them and be included in the future plans of Pregame.
Thanks again for a wonderful meal, which RJ covered the entire tab for...which I appreciate very much and I look forward to doing it again and making it a tradition like we spoke about...I'm dying to go to the other spot now for that steak...VR
