  • A fun one!

  • Yes sir Thanks Again Dan for having me on.

  • Great stuff.  Couldn't agree more about the "one game" stuff, Dan.  I think it boils down to this:  when there is money, and losing money, involved it sticks with people more.  We easily forget the winners and we hang onto those losers.

The opposite should be true, in some regards.  I'm not suggesting we throw away those losses.  We should learn from them, as you said.  We should also learn from our winners and draw from them going forward.

Focusing on one game, however, is just flat out not helpful.

I think there are probably a handful of games like the UT/A&M game each week/month, whatever timeframe.  It was on a slow night, coming of a football-less weekend and I think that helped fuel people's focus on the cappers loss.

  • Geez. I sure am glad I totally looked over and paid zero attention to that UT/A&M game. Sounds like a lot of people got sucked in. I don't think I even looked at a line for it. Anyway, it keeps being brought up.

But I was initially writing that I'll have to listen to this TISB since there will be some MMA talk, I'm assuming. So far the best random MMA talk I could find is Joe Rogan on youtube. : /  Well, he's definitely knows his stuff, but he usually has moron sidekicks and they somehow go off on rants about totally weird stuff. ha.

  • Dan- Great discussion today! Thought I'd let you know that you and Gill, and the podcasts you guys host, are becoming so popular, that a few of the sports bars in the Tulane University section of New Orleans, are broadcasting your podcasts (reruns, several hours later in the evening).

  • TISB listeners buying syrup at the market all get Mrs. Buttersworth?  ...so true, haha

  • Great show guys!  Every night you guys make my hour + commute much more bearable haha.

Heat up 10 at the half.  Kind of a situation you mentioned on the show.  I guess this might be a good time to take a Magic 2nd half -3?  I already have the Heat +1, so I think I'll stay put.  But it's got to be Magic or nothing, right?

Also love the MMA talk.  This card looks great from a fan perspective.  But seems like some big lines on the betting front.  Might be a good night to just sit back and watch.

My book only has Silva -140 to win inside the distance and Belfort +300 the same.  Any thoughts on 1.4 units on Silva and 1 unit on Belfort?  As long as it doesn't go to decision, I'd at least break even.  Pretty much betting 2.5 units that it doesn't go to decision though.  Although the more I think about it, I kinda just like 0.5 units on Belfort inside decision.

Great stuff guys.  I've been on Pregame for a year now and learned so much.  More than I ever could on my own.  And it's been fun.  Thanks

  • Good idea to stay put on Heat +1. I haven't seen a 2nd half score yet, but I think sometimes people want to get down action on the 2nd Half when they have a really good looking wager on the game. Yes, a nice middle opportunity, but my opinion is it's usually best to take the money and run. But if you do go for a middle, just play a portion of the game wager if it looks solid at halftime, and at least make some $$$.
