You're freaking good at finding these -- I had to do the other podcast before tagging, but let's get this thread a-rockin', now!
I did a bad job of tracking yesterday's thread, as I went to see Inception. Today, I'm back! Miggy to the Padres, Cantu to the Rangers, it's a wild time!
White Sox gave up WAAY too much for Jackson, who isn't a good second half pitcher.
How was inception? Worth a look?
Watson, completely agree -- they would have been better off with a veteran like Myers, though I guess they have hopes that Jackson regains his confidence pitching for a good team?
No Limit - Inception was pretty damn tight. Definitely recommend it. Almost 3 hours of entertainment, and a pretty complicated plot.
Yeah I just read the review, whats the deal with the building folding up and shit? Is it a sci fi, if it is I'm in since I love movies that are taking place in the future.
The thing about Jackson is the Sox might think they can re-build him and make him a stud. They have had some success with Cooper as the pitching coach with guys like Contreras and Loaiza so as a Sox fan I don't mind it.
KRP - Good points. This is one of those trades that will only make sense a year from now...or not, at all, I suppose. The Sox wanted a "proven" arm to fill Peavy's spot in the rotation, and we saw Jackson have success in the AL with Tampa and Detroit. Plus, the offenses in the AL Central aren't exactly world-beaters, so he might just be okay...?
NL - I wouldn't call it futuristic, just sort of "out there"...you'll like it, I think.
Thanks dan, I'll keep in mind for a future date night with the old lady. As far as the sox trade goes the way I look at it is that as long as ownership is making an effort to improve the team then its better than doing nothing. I remember earlier in the decade when the phils were one missing piece away from a possibly postseaon bubble and ed wade said one day at a press conference, "we feel we have what we need to win", when that statement was complete horeshit. Glad they fired his ass.
My boys got Podsednik....hooray! Hahaha
Scotty pods used to be a stat line stud in fantasy a few years ago. Seems like the guy is always on base.
The mere fact that he takes playing time away from Garrett Anderson makes me like him. How can the Dodgers keep running that guy out there -- he's not getting big hits, he swings at EVERY pitch, and he's batting .180!
I hear ya man, the phils have been bringing #B men in and out here and we have had a guy named greg dobbs who can play the position, hit for power and plays decent defense, yet they still never start the guy. Makes me wonder?
But now you guys have BIG D. BROWN ready to crush all who oppose his DOMinanace
