The rain continued on Tuesday Morning at Churchill Downs as it's been raining since Friday in Louisville. The rain didn't put a damper on Conveyance's morning workout as the likely pace setter in the Derby turned in his second straight strong workout on Tuesday Morning.
Exercise rider Dana Barnes sent Conveyance thru 5 furlongs in a brisk 59.58 seconds. That was the 3 year olds second straight sharp workout and looks ready for Saturday's Kentucky Derby.
As one of the confirmed speed horses in this year's Kentucky Derby Conveyance will be sent to the front when the Starting gates open on Saturday...The Question is will he still be there as they hit the finish line on Saturday...
Absolutely not, Marco. Conveyance is nothing more than a pace casualty. This horse has never won going further than 1 mile. Also, the Derby favors horses trending up. This horse bagan his career with a 4 race win streak but lost his winning way in the Sunland Derby of all places. Not one of my top selections, that's for sure. Although I do like to hear about horses like this turning in quick workouts. The public will eat it up. Better odds on the REAL contenders.
With these workouts I think you really have to take into account when it happened. If Conveyance hits the track right after its been sealed its a lot different then running through he muck
