How sick am I...

Ok How sick am I? Well as many of you already know I have been absent from the Pregame scene for a couple days. Here's the roller coaster that has been my last 2 Days. On Wednesday morning it was business as usual as I got up at 5:15 ready to start another day. I was fresh off an easy winner Tuesday Night with Buffalo which ran my recent streak to 30-9 the last 4+ weeks. I get to the office around 6:30 following my morning stop at Starbucks. I start working on the Pregamepros home page and looking at the games for the day. Then the day takes a turn.

Around 7:20 my left arm goes numb it has been doing this off and on the last couple weeks so I figure it will stop in a few minutes like it usually does. Well 20 minutes later it hasn't stopped and in fact it has gotten worse. Now I am concerned as my father had a stroke and my mother lost a brother to a heart attack at a young age. So I see RJ is online and I send him an IM message telling him I'm heading to the hospital. I call my girlfriend and she says she will come get me and I said just meet me at hospital it's just 5 minutes down the street. So when I get there I'm in the ER immediately they take my blood pressure and it's very high. They put me on a heart monitor and do a EKG right away. So far they can't find out the problem as they order more test as everything on the heart is coming back good.

They decide to keep me for more test on Thursday and to observe me overnight. At this point I'm going nuts I have games to handicap. I convince my girl against doctor's wishes to bring me my laptop to the hospital Thursday morning. So once I got back from the test I started handicapping the games for the weekend. The doctors finally found that I had a bulging disk in my neck that's pressing on the nerve that runs to my left arm and spinal cord. This is what's causing the numbness and pain. The good news is Heart is in good condition.

So here's the sick part Friday I have to wait to see the surgeon before I can get discharged. So I'm up at 6:30 working on the Games some more for the weekend and decide I'm making a play on the Friday Night Game as I bet Nevada. I also got good information on a horse that was going to be a nice price. But I'm stuck in the hospital how am I going to get this horse bet...then it hits me..JOHNNY DETROIT!

I shoot Johnny a quick email give Johnny the scoop on the horse and he says no problem how much you want on her. I tell Johnny bet me $500 to Win and the horse goes off at 9-1. The horse goes to the front and is leading the entire mile until the last 16th of the mile. She gets run down in deep stretch and finishes 3rd. Now remember I'm still hooked up to the heart monitor and when they turned for home I'm thinking I'm a winner and my $500 bet is going to return over $5000. The nurse comes down the hall to see why my heart rate jumped up so high and what does she find but me and my girl on the hospital bed in front of my laptop watching a horse race on the computer. The nurse shakes her head and says now I've seen it all.

I was discharged about 2 hours later after the surgeon came in. The doctor is putting me on some steroids to help out for the time being but the surgery will have to wait a while as I'm on too big of a roll to go on the injured reserve list now.

And the streak continued as Nevada just went final upping the record to 31-9.  So I ask you how sick am I to be handicapping, betting and watching horse races from my hospital bed??

Thanks for everyone's concern I'm OK and ready to kick some more Las Vegas Bookmaker A$$ this weekend!
