As all the College Basketball teams start to play each other for the second time the word revenge will be over used. Here's a fact when teams play twice someone is going to have lost the first meeting. Does the loser of the first meeting automatically earn the right to gain revenge in the second meeting...absolutely not. But every year the average player will be firing away on every team that is in revenge. This will put you in the poor house!
One of the Biggest Revenge myths out there is when a team is a double digit dog on the road in the first meeting and only loses by 3 or 4 points. John Q Public can't wait to bet the Home Team in Revenge when they meet up for the second meeting. You must look at these games very differently because more often than not the revenging team not only doesn't get revenge they get blown out and here's why.
Since the favorite was a double digit favorite in the first meeting they are a better team so why the close call in the first metting. Well a lot of things could have taken place. First who did the favorite play in their previous game? Who did they play in their next game? Could it have been that they were in a letdown situation following a bigger game or were they in a look ahead situation to a bigger game up next? The fact is they probably took their opponent for granted and thus the Underdog was able to give them a scare. But in reality this creates a great situation in the rematch...
- The Favorite is totally Focused because of 1st Meeting Scare and Brings their A Game
- We are getting great Line value because Vegas knows the public will be betting the Dog
The end result is we get the better team at a better line and they are totally focused to insure that they are not upset. So don't blindly bet every revenge game because the fact is there are season sweeps every year and this is the method of spotting one!!
Good Luck and I'll see you guys in the Winner's Circle!
