St. Louis Cardinals @ Milwaukee Brewers
Line: Brewers -120
Total: 7.5
Two great pitchers going tonight in
Milwaukee as 10-5 Jamie Garcia takes the mound for the Cardinals with
his 3.14 ERA against the Brewers Shaun Marcum and his 10-3 record and
3.33 ERA. The story for the Brewers tonight is going to be which offense
is going to show up for them. The Brewers average and impressive 5.1
runs per game at home, however they struggle against left handed
pitchers and average just 3.7 runs per game against lefties. Similar
story for the Cardinals coming into tonight’s game as they average 5.1
runs per game on the road and 4.8 runs per game on the season which is
pretty impressive. However, they are struggling in there last 2 games
where they scored just 5 combined runs in their last 2 games, including a
home game on Sunday Night Baseball.
Jamie Garica is on fire right now with a
2.66 ERA in his last 3 starts but is just 1-2 due to his teams struggle
to score runs at times. Shaun Marcum is pretty hot right now himself
with a 3-0 record and a 3.00 ERA in his last 3 starts. The real story is
Marucm is 5-1 at home on the season despite just a 4.74 ERA on the year
at home. The impressive record has to do with how well the Brewers can
hit the baseball and if they want a chance to win tonight it will have
to be done with the bats again off a left handed pitcher, which hasn’t
happened much this season.
This game is going to come down to
offense tonight in Milwaukee. If the Brewers can get to the lefty Garcia
then they will have the advantage tonight at home and if the Cardinals
can get out of their offensive funk and get to Marcum then they will win
this game. Going to be a good one in the NL Central where the standings
are tight and their is no love loss between these two teams. Can’t wait
to sit back and relax and watch this battle.
