Outside of Major League Baseball, All-Star games are usually garbage. Granted the NBA and NHL put up 10 times more points versus a regular season game, but for the most part they are a joke. You have players participating who are there on name alone. You have essentially zero defense. Worst of all, they award some millionaire dollar cry baby a new car or something for actually trying a little harder than the rest and winning the MVP.
If we have to award one of the major sports for having the most useless All-Star game, you have to give the nod to the NFL. Not only do they play the game in Hawaii, where 99.9% of the average fans can't attend, the game itself is played AFTER the season is over. Besides the free trip to the beautiful island of Hawaii, you think ANY of these guys actually give a S**T about this game? I am a football junkie and have the NFL Ticket on DTV, but have NEVER watched a complete Pro Bowl. At least in other leagues All-Star games I can remember certain events or great endings, but on the Pro Bowl I have ZERO memories. None, zilch, nada.
Soon as the clock hit 0:00 in the Super Bowl at the end of the 4th quarter, the NFL season officially ended. Pro Bowl? I think I will pass and clear out my TIVO of some Family Guy or High Stakes episode I have seen 8 times already.
