Celtics Rondo, Davis likely out for week

    Rajon Rondo - G - BOS - Mar. 9

Rajon Rondo, who trained briefly with his ankle taped on Monday, will not travel with the Celtics for Wednesday's game at Miami and may not play Friday against Memphis, either.

Rondo sounds likely to miss at least two of his three games this week, although Doc Rivers is actually talking about him missing all three. Our guess is Eddie House will start instead of Stephon Marbury, but we'll have to see.

Deng not ready to play, remains day-to-day

    Luol Deng - G/F - CHI - Mar. 9

Luol Deng tested his injured leg at Monday's shootaround but the results were less than encouraging.

"He didn't feel real good, so he's kind of just day-to-day," Vinny Del Negro said. "We'll get him as much therapy and as much work as he can do and tolerate and get him healthy as quick as possible." Deng has now been "day-to-day" for over a week and there is still no guarantee he plays again this season, as the leg doesn't seem to be improving despite aggressive treatment.

    Marvin Williams - G/F - Hawks

Marvin Williams is questionable for Monday's game with a sore lower back, according to Rotoworld sources.

If Marvin can't go, Mo Evans would likely start in his place. If you were torn on whether to play Marvin or not this week, this could be the tie-breaking information. Mar. 9

    Rajon Rondo - G - Celtics

Rajon Rondo (sprained ankle) is aiming to return against the Heat on Wednesday.

"It wasn't that bad," Rondo said of the injury he sustained Friday night. "I'm planning on [Wednesday]. I'm getting treatment." An earlier report on NESN.com suggested that he would miss 7-to-10 days, but (fortunately) that now sounds overly pessimistic. Mar. 9

Report: Big Baby leaves game on crutches

    Glen Davis - F/C - BOS - Mar. 9

Glen Davis, who left Sunday's game with a sprained ankle, left the locker room on crutches, according to the Boston Globe.

We should get more word about the status of the X-rays taken on his ankle fairly soon, but this doesn't look good for him. Look for Leon Powe to be a strong play until Kevin Garnett returns, and possibly beyond.

    Kirk Hinrich - G - Bulls

Kirk Hinrich expects to play against the Heat on Monday despite a bruised quad that kept him out of Sunday's practice.

"[Hinrich] has got a pretty big bruise, and he's really stiff," coach Vinny Del Negro said. "[But] if Kirk can play, I know he will." Mar. 9
