GoodFellas NBA Notes Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

Minnesota @ Toronto

-Toronto won at Minny 110-102 as 2.5 pt road favs. back on Feb. 10th, & Tornoto is 9-0 SU & ATS the L/9 games vs Minny-

-Minnesota is 2-10 SU & 4-8 ATS their L/12 games & they are coming off a 3 pt home loss to the Lakers on Sunday, however, Minnesota is 12-3 ATS their L/15 road games-

-Toronto is coming off a 11 pt home win over NY on Sunday, but Toronto is just 2-6 ATS their L/8 games as a home favorite of 5 to 10.5 pts, while Minnesota is 5-1 ATS their L/6 as a road dog of 5 to 10.5 pts-

Detroit @ Miami

-Detroit beat Miami 93-90 AT Detroit n Feb. 4th as 4.5 pt favorites, so Miami will definitely have payback on their mind tonight, & Detroit is coming off a 21 pt blowout loss AT Cleveland on Sunday, as Detroit is just 2-8 SU & 1-9 ATS their L/10 games-

-Detroit is 5-0 SU & 2-3 ATS their L/5 games overall vs Miami, & Detroit is also 0-6 ATS their L/6 games on 1 day of rest & they are also 0-7 ATS their L/7 games as a underdog-

-Miami is playing their 3rd game in 4 days tonight since the all-star break, but they have not had to leave the state of Florida during the 4 game stretch. The Heat are coming off a 23 pt blowout loss AT Orlando on Sunday, & Miami is a impressive 5-1 ATS L/6 games following a double digit loss & Miami is also 8-2 ATS L/10 games with 1 day of rest-

Orlando @ Chicago

-This is the 3rd meeting between these two clubs this season, with Orlando winning both games, including a 19 pt blowout win AT Chicago on Dec. 31st, so Chicago has double revenge going for them tonight-

-Orlando has won 3 of 4 since the all-star break (2 wins over the Bobcats) & are coming off a 23 pt blowout win over Miami on Sunday. Their one loss since the break, was a 32 pt beatdown put on them by New Orleans-

-Chicago has won 2 of 3 since the all-star break, & they are coming off a 7 pt loss AT Indiana on Sunday, however, Chicago is 5-0 ATS L/5 games after a straight up loss & 5-1-1 ATS their L/7 vs teams with a winning SU record-

-Orlando is 6-0 SU & 4-2 ATS the L/6 games vs Chicago, & Orlando is 6-1-1 ATS ther L/8 games as a road favorite of .5 to 4.5, however, Orlando is also 1-4 ATS their L5/ games after scoring 100 pts or more in their previous game-

Dallas @ San Antonio

-This is the 3rd meeting between these two clubs tonight, as both teams won on each other's home floor. Dallas won AT San Antonio 98-91 as 4.5 pt dogs, back on Nov. 4th, & San Antonio beat Dallas AT Dallas 133-126 as 2 pt road favs on Dec. 9th-

-San Antonio is finally back home from a grueling 8 game east coast road trip tonight, as they finished off the long roadie by smashing the lowly Wizards 98-67 on Saturday night. Normally the spot that the Spurs are in tonight is a very difficult one for teams in general, 1st game back home off a long road trip on the other side of the country, but amazingly San Antonio is 8-1 ATS their L/9 games following a road trip of 7 days or longer-

-Dallas has won 2 of 3 since the all-star break, & they are coming off a 21 pt blowout home win over Sacramento on Saturday night, & Dallas is 8-3 SU & 7-4 ATS their L/11 games overall-

-Dallas is 5-0 ATS their L/5 games with 2 days of rest & San Antonio is 2-5 ATS their L/7 games with 2 days of rest & the Spurs are also 0-8 ATS their L/8 games after allowing 75 pts or less in their previous game & are 0-6-1 ATS L/7 following a double digit win-

-San Antonio is 6-0 ATS their L/6 games vs teams with a winning record, but the Spurs are just 2-5 ATS L/7 games as a home favorite of .5 to 4.5, while Dallas is just 1-4 ATS their L/5 games as a underdog-

Josh Smith may be suspended for flagrant foul

    Josh Smith - F - ATL - Feb. 24

Josh Smith could be suspended for Wednesday's due to his Flagrant-2 foul on Matt Harpring Monday night.

The team is awaiting official word from the NBA, and the matter should be decided sometime Tuesday. Stay tuned.

    Mike Bibby - G - Hawks

The Hawks could be without starting point guard Mike Bibby (flu) on Wednesday.

Bibby was scoreless in 15 minutes against the Jazz on Monday, so the illness is clearly affecting him. Acie Law would likely get the start if Bibby is unable to go, but Flip Murray would be the bigger beneficiary. Feb. 24

  • "but amazingly San Antonio is 8-1 ATS their L/9 games following a road trip of 7 days or longer"

Update: Nene could be out up to two weeks

    Nene Hilario - F/C - DEN - Feb. 24

Nuggets coach George Karl expects Nene (bone bruise in right knee) to miss at least the rest of this week, and a source close to the situation said it's likely he'll miss two weeks.

While not devastating, this report is definitely a setback for Nene's owners. Keep him benched and hopefully two weeks will remain the 'worst-case scenario'. In the meantime, both Johan Petro and Chris Andersen should have increased playing time.
