Bone bruise to keep Nene out Monday

    Nene Hilario - F/C - DEN - Feb. 23

Nene has been diagnosed with a bone bruise on his right knee after an MRI and will not be in uniform on Monday against the Celtics.

The good news is that there's no structural damage and he's listed as day-to-day. As reported earlier, Kenyon Martin will be a game-time decision with a sore back, although he said on Sunday he expects to play tonight.

Deng to have X-ray on injured wrist

    Luol Deng - G/F - CHI - Feb. 23

Luol Deng missed Monday's practice with a bruised right wrist and had X-rays taken as a precaution.

He suffered the injury during Sunday's loss to the Pacers but was able to play through it. Deng is still listed as probable for Tuesday's game against the Magic.

    Drew Gooden's return date unclear

    Drew Gooden - F/C - SAC - Feb. 23

It is not known when Drew Gooden (groin, abdomen) will make his Kings debut, but he is doubtful for Monday's game against the Hornets.

"It's an injury that has bothered me the last couple years," Gooden said. "It's been said to be a lower abdominal strain, said to be a groin strain, an abductor strain, I've heard it all. I'm to the point where I'm frustrated and I need to get down the bottom of what's going on." Take that however you will, but it sounds like he could still be out for some time.

  • Four Clips

Marcus Camby's ear infection kept him out all week, which was a crushing blow to many of us. Hopefully he's finally ready to go this week, but the fact his ear drum collapsed on a flight is pretty telling of the mess that is the Clippers this year. Camby still hasn't been cleared to fly, but could play tonight in L.A. Still no signs of Chris Kaman, and I'm not the least bit surprised. Again, I'm not even thinking about picking him up and have not even bothered to check to see if he's available in any of my leagues. Al Thornton's foot injury kept him out of his first game of the season last night and he's day-to-day. Hopefully he can play through it, but I have benched him in the one league where I own him. Zach Randolph should return to action tonight, although there is a little bit of a question because he was in Indy visiting his ill father. I haven't heard that tonight's game is in jeopardy, so he should be OK to start. But it's something to keep an eye on up until game time.

  • Thanks player & GL with your plays tonight bud.

  • Nice read GF.......I am on Philly tonight so we will see what happens............BOL tonight

Kenyon Martin probable vs. Celts on Monday

    Kenyon Martin - F - DEN - Feb. 23

Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin plans to play against the Celtics on Monday after sitting out Sunday because of back spasms.

Martin could be leaned on heavily if Nene's knee injury forces him to sit out. There is some risk, but it sounds safe to get K-Mart back into your lineups.

Biedrins (ankle) expected to return on Monday

    Andris Biedrins - F/C - GS - Feb. 23

Andris Biedrins (ankle) is expected to return for the Warriors on Monday.

He fully participated in Sunday's practice, and owners shouldn't hesitate to activate him.

Carlos Boozer likely to return on Monday

    Carlos Boozer - F/C - UTA - Feb. 23

Carlos Boozer (knee) participated fully in Sunday's practice and is considered likely to return to action on Monday.

Boozer said he'll initially play "limited minutes, probably five minutes a quarter, just depending on how it goes." That should ease his transition back into the rotation, and owners may want to watch him play a few games before activating him. He is expected to resume starting right away, moving Paul Millsap to the bench.
