GoodFellas NBA Notes Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Minnesota @ Indiana

-These two teams split their 2 meetings last season, as the home team won & covered both games-

-Minnesota has lost 3 straight games coming into tonights game, but the three losses were to Detroit, Boston & the Lakers. And prior to the 3 game losing streak, Minny had won 10 of 12 SU & Minnesota is 5-0 ATS in their L/5 road games-

-Indiana is playin their 4th and final game of their 4 game homestand tonight & they are coming off a 122-113 loss to New York in their last game-

-Indiana may be without both Marquis Daniels & Danny Granger tonight as both are questionable fro tonights game-

-Indiana is 6-1 SU & 5-2 ATS in their L/7 home games-

Boston @ Philadelphia

-Boston is on a 11 game winning streak & they are 9-2 ATS during the win streak, however Kevin Garnett sat out Sunday vs Minnesota with the flu & KG is OUT for tonights game as well-

-Boston could very well be looking ahead tonight, as they HOST the Lakers on TNT Thursday night, in a definite revenge game for Boston, as the Lakers beat Boston AT Los Angeles (92-83) on Christmas day-

-Boston has blownout Philly twice this season AT Boston, 102-78 as 8.5 pt favs on Nov. 28th & then again 110-91 as 13 pt favs on Dec. 23rd & Boston is 6-0-1 ATS the L/7 games these teams have played AT Philly-

-Philly is coming off a 2 pt home loss to New Jersey on Saturday night, but there is no doubt that Philly will want to exact some revenge tonight vs a Boston team that has stomped all over them twice this season & tonight they get Boston in their home building-

-Philly is just 1-4-1 ATS in their L/6 games & just 1-4 ATS L/5 games vs Boston overall-

Milwaukee @ New Jersey

-Milwaukee beat NJ 104-102 as 7 pt home favs back on Jan. 9th, so New Jersey will be looking to exact some revenge tonight-

-Milwaukee has won 2 straight games & are coming off a 110-107 home victory over Atlanta on Saturday night & they just got starting C Andrew Bogut back from injury, to help ease the major loss they suffered with all-star G Michael Redd being lost with a season ending injury. Bogut is OUT for tonights game however, and did not travel with the team-

-New Jersey comes in off a 85-83 win AT Philly in their last game & NJ was just 1-8 SU in their L/9 games prior to the win-

-New Jersey is 5-0 ATS the L/5 times these teams have played & Milwaukee is just 1-4 ATS in their L/5 road games-

-The total has gone OVER in 4 of the L/5 games between these two teams-

Chicago @ Houston

-Chicago is off to a great start on their 7 game west coast road trip, as they are 3-1 so far & are coming off a 122-111 win at Phoenix on Saturday night.-

-Houston is playing their 3rd and final game of their homestand tonight (1-1 so far), as they are coming off a 110-93 win over Golden St. on Sat.

-Houston is 13-3 SU in their L/16 home games & they are 4-1 ATS the L/5 games vs Chicago overall-

-Chicago PG Derek Rose is questionable for tonights game, as he asked out of the game twice in the Bulls last game vs Phoenix on Sat. night, with a sprained left foot-

-Chicago is 5-1 ATS in their L/6 road games & they are 4-1 ATS in their L/5 games overall coming into tonight-

-The total has gone OVER in 7 of the L/8 games between these two teams-

San Antonio @ Denver

-San Antonio has won 4 straight games & they are a NBA best 13-3 SU since January 1st, as they are coming off a OT win AT Golden St. last night. San Antonio is just 5-4 ATS in their L/9 games overall-

-San Antonio is playing its 3rd game in 4 nights tonight & are in a back to back spot tonight as well. San Antonio is just 8-20 ATS in back to back spots, over the last 2 years-

-Denver has not played since Friday nights home win over Charlotte (110-99) & Denver heads out for a brutal 18 day, 8 game east coast road trip after tonights game, so a home win is very important for them to get tonight before heading out on this very tough & lenghty road trip-

-These teams have played twice alread this season, with the road team winning both games. Denver won AT Spurs 91-81 as 1 pt road favs on Nov. 19th & Spurs won AT Denver 108-91 as 4 pt dogs on Dec. 4th-

-Denver is 4-1 ATS the L/5 games between these two teams, & Denver is 20-10 ATS as favorites this season as well-

-Denver is 14-6 ATS their L/20 games vs the Southwest Division, but they are just 2-5 ATS the L/7 games with 3 or more days off-

  • I just saw this & thanks Bonds & Jorge for the compliments, appreciate it fellas & GL the rest of the week to the both of you.

  • Joe- I am passing on the NY/Milwaukee game, as I dont see a edge to either team in this game, but I do have a small lean to NJ at home...GL tonight buddy.

  • I am (9-1 +11.33 Units) on my CBB/NBA Two Team 5.5 pt Mixed Teasers this season & I think this one cashes tonight as well:

    Philadelphia 76ers +9 to Florida Gators -2   -120  (2.4/2.0)

  • GF,

Is it possible you could post your NBA picks for me today?  My browser is messed up and I can't access the forums.

    Thanks GF.

  • GF,  I'm wondering if you're leaning any way with the Nets/Bucks game tonight? It looks like a good game to get down on.

    Jameer Nelson - G - Magic

An MRI on Jameer Nelson's dislocated shoulder revealed a torn right labrum. The team will decide over the next week whether he will have season-ending surgery or attempt rehabilitation.

At the very least, Nelson is out for a few weeks. The Magic will have to rely on veteran point guard Anthony Johnson for the time being, though it's likely that they'll soon sign a backup. Another option is using Hedo Turkoglu as a point-forward. This news rules Nelson out for the All-Star game -- commissioner David Stern gets to select his replacement, and the favorites include Mo Williams, Ray Allen and David Lee. Feb. 3 - 12:23 p.m. ET
