Here are a few teams that I feel are capable of having a good year this year. I will be adding more info to these teams later, but if you have any information or thoughts on these teams please add. The total win information is taken from BetUS. I will be adding a couple more teams before season starts as well.

Kansas City Royals:

The Kansas City Royals have always been a team that people have a tendency to look past when it comes to a winning ball club. Things may be different this year. Kansas City has made progress this spring to become a team that will compete in the AL Central. The Royals have had decent pitching in the last few years including their ace Gil Meche and also Zack Greinke. The area the Royals have struggled is at the plate. This year they brought in Mike Jacobs who last year hit .247 and had 32 homeruns for the Florida Marlins. Although Jacobs is no savior he does bring a little more help to Alex Gordon, who is in his 3^rd year with the team. Along with Jacobs and Gordon, the Royals also signed Coco Crisp who will help defensively for the Royals this year along side Jose Guillen in the outfield. Here is what their starters should like come the start of season.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

This is a team we all saw play a little better last year but couldn't hold on all year. This year we may see the same thing as they will start out strong again but could end up fading towards mid year. The Pirates have some good players both offensively and defensively. They were led last year by Nate Mclouth who hit .276, 26 Homeruns, 94 RBIs and 23 SB's. McLouth will have some help this year by Adam LaRoche, Ryan Doumit and Ryan Doumit. The Pirates also have some very good and solid pitchers. What hurt last year is they were not consistent all year. If the big 3 for the Pirates this year can stay consistent then look for the Pirates to compete in the weak NL Central. The pitching staff this year will again be lead by Paul Maholm who led the team with 139 strikeouts. Ian Snell was close behind with 135, and then next in line was Zach Duke, who the Pirates need to step up this year. As of 03/23 the Pirates were 4^th in the National League spring training in homeruns with 29 team homers. We all know that spring training doesn't really mean too much when it comes to regular season, but when it comes to a team like the Pirates a good spring could mean things are looking good in future. They have gone 14-9 this spring. Here is their depth chart as of now with 12 days to go until the season opener.
