GOWs and GOYs do suck. why you bringing that up in here though?
if you know anything about Dan he preaches money management and even said that flat bettors should play this game at 1.25U as opposed to 1. i don't think any game ever has more than a 60% chance of winning so you shouldn't treat it altogether differently than any other play that you feel merits your money backing.
Blogs are only as good as your weakest link. It only takes one moron to ruin the whole thing. lol.
how about make the blog, but then make a thread to discuss it in? kind of like how you do your TiSB thread. And make this blog where you can't comment? Because like I said, I miss a ton of it in the day because of course 'gambling' websites are blocked... but this isn't gambling, gambling is when you throw away money... this is sports education with a concentration in dissecting odds.
COME ON OVER TO THE NEW BLOG:

Thanks Dfresh - I'm surprisingly not all that pissed about this loss...maybe because it wasn't a bad beat for once. Just the wrong side, the Spurs played like crap, and sometimes you can't handicap a team totally screwing things up.
However, the fact that folks continue to glean info from the leantracker and so forth, maybe that's why Im still in a good mood!
Funny you mention that, David, because I told RJ to implement that feature if/when they ever redo the blog platform.
The forum threads send you emails when people respond - why not the blogs???
I've asked people before if they would prefer to have these things over in the forum, but for the most part people seem to prefer having the round-ups in the blog format.
If you guys decide you want me to move this stuff over into a standard forum thread, I'll be more than happy to.
A lot of people hate 'GOW' and 'GOY' because they think that = 'Go crazy with your money management', and if it doesn't hit, they are upset. Anything can happen. I have come across 2 people that bet the Bucks ML tonight at -600. They both thought it was easy money since the Bucks have been on fire and Philly has been sucking bad. Well one guy bet WAY too much money on this 'sure thing' and probably lost more than he can afford to pay. The other guy stuck to his 4% of his bankroll type of play and he's still very much in the game and didn't lose a whole lot. It takes discipline. I always tell people to not get crazy on GOW of GOY. Maybe add .5 or 1 unit to your regular play, and that's about it. ---- On another note: I have NO idea why people want to drop a 6 to 1 wager, as in the ML play. At least parlay it with another big ML play for better odds or something.
Gisele - interesting way to break into the blog-posting community.
If you follow me for any length of time, I have NEVER released a game of the year, I have released ONE 3* play since December, and Game of the Week is merely a name for a play that I like a little bit more than most of the other ones.
I realize this one lost, and I'm not going to make excuses, the Spurs got killed, but I NEVER throw plays around willy nilly, and EVERY person in this blog will attest to that.
Look around the entire internet and try to find 3 cappers that release FEWER big plays than me.
I wish there was some kind of e-mail subscription thing that sends you messages as they post... because it takes forever for this page to reload for me after we have like a kazillion posts!
i hate GOWs, GOYs,...
I respect you more for the way you think. This is what makes you a solid classy guy my friend. You will always find door to my home open to you buddy.
Yeah, I know, Juan, but YOU GUYS in this blog aren't the ones I'm concerned about.
You see how nutty some of the forum guys can be, so for now, I'd prefer to just establish myself here, try to get as many SHARP, SOLID bettors all together in this blog, and next year we'll add to our repertoire!
Plus, we've got baseball coming in a couple weeks, NFL, CFB, and suddenly we're back in NBA!
No sense trying to throw myself at people just because it's NCAA time of the year...I'm always willing to toss out thoughts, though I'll admit I mostly bet Pac-10 until the tourney
Hahaha, it's alright guys! No worries.
Last night I was just pissed cuz it looked like one of my better picks was about to go down the drain because of overtime.
Tonight, David did indeed tell me beforehand he was on the Lakers, and they just KILLED the Spurs, so it's not like he was rooting for anything crazy.
WRONG CALL tonight, by me, and that's why we semi-flat bet, because that one game won't hurt us much.
I didn't bet it, but I still think it will be hard for Memphis to cover that -6 in the 2H. They are shooting nearly 50% now, and GS has come down a little bit but still shooting a nice percentage. Memphis is -4 right now. I kinda wish I took that Under 116 for the 2H in that game. I think both teams will cool off and GS will slow down in the 4th. We will see. --- I think I'm about off to bed. Another good night with a +4 Unit day/night. Hopefully can find some strong stuff for tomorrow.
Hi Dan,
Sorry for your loss. As mentioned, I didn't play the lakers straight which was my play as I hate playing and rooting against you. I did lose my spurs teasers.
keep your chin up. Almost every one of your leans panned out.
