This marks the STRANGEST time of day I've ever loaded up a blog - 5:30am pacific time (where I am currently) - and I haven't yet gone to sleep!
POP. Beat ya, Juan...And I'm not even up early.
Dan pointed this out the other day, but we got away from it (last play Utah -14 before Spurs -12 last night) with our Grizz and Suns play and that is to exploit the teams that have packed it in when they play a team that has good reason to pound them. I don't know if the Suns and Grizz plays are winners over the long term, but the Lakers and Nuggets still have good reason to get out and play good b-ball compared to the Spurs and Jazz winners over the lotto king Clippers.
I didn't over bet nor am I upset at losing the play last night, but I do feel like the Spurs play wins way more often than the Grizz play if we could run them back 100 times given this stage of the season.
I think there are a handful of teams that could be great to fade right now: Clippers, Wizards, Bulls (if they don't get healthy soon), Minny, etc. I keep the Nets out of that group since they keep finding a way to cover. Maybe some of the upper tier teams can be exploited when the playoff/home court has all panned out and they look to rest a bit.
Thoughts from you guys? I don't mean this as a blanket statement and don't plan to fade these teams every night regardless of other angles etc, but I am thinking the largest VALUE might be in laying some larger chalk in the next week or so.
Yeah, well, I was asleep at that time, still drunk actually. LOL
Clevland / Bsston 196.0 ..too much for probably an ugly game I think ..Dan ?
You're killing me, Smalls!!!! (OK, not really but I had to get that line out there since it's only 22 days until the home opener at Ewing M. Kaufmann.) Tough loss last night... I know you're already back on top of things.
Me love me my Thunder, just not sure about that whole double-revenge with Utah.
Glad we are looking at the same thing with the Raptors. I'm sure I'll have a flyer out there on Portland as I look for a double-digit win from the Blazers.
Part of me wants to stay on the Orlando bandwagon *but * they haven't been the best at covering in b2b situations *and* Charlotte has that whole triple revenge thing on their side *and* they've fared very resectably ATS against teams with high octane offense. That's three strikes so I'm leaning Charlotte and taking the 8 1/2 tonight but that line seems very fair at this point.
little off topic here but, i can't wait to see espn's 30 for 30 on reggie miller v. the knicks. should be fantastic.
I think I may have seem the wrong score, or the scoreboard malfunction, but did I see my Mavs get embarrassed? Will someone please tell the score keeper they messed up the score in that game?
Anybody else like the Heat -6.5?
Morning Guys,
Just jumping in here quickly before taking the wife and another couple wine tasting in Santa Ynez above beautiful santa Barbara.
Really liking Utah today +3.5 far too many pts for Thunder to be giving this team. Also liking Boston and Phoenix on the card.
Good luck to all today!

i've got a little lean on indiana. i know it's an anti-Dan lean, and that's a little scary but, it always seems that when teams "overachieve" in a sense, that when they finally start getting the Vegas respect, and they play a team that they should handle easy, such as milwaukee should do with indiana today, that they have a little let-down. i hear ya though, dan, that Skiles should keep them from letting down, and that's the only thing that scares me here. well, that, and the fact that indiana sucks a big one ...
Dan, Jay Bilas is talking about how your Cal Bears shouldn't get in the tourney. What ya say, man?
Look at that line move. Thunder-Jazz is @ 3.5. I got it at 2 this morning. I was thinking that maybe Deron Williams was ruled out, but it looks like he's not on the injury report at all. I'm seeing AK47, CJ Miles, and Ronnie Price as Day-To-Day. That doesn't mean Williams isn't dinged up and won't be his usual self. Just a thought.
SportsbookSpy is showing the Pacers-Bucks game getting the most play. Thunder-Jazz is a good 5k bets behind. Only 57% of the money is on the Thunder. Maybe the sharps hit the Thunder heavy early this morning?
