Well, I would have been right about that Houston/Portland game, but I've never been upset about a bet I didn't make, and I won't start today. 8 of the last 9 posted NBA plays have been winners, and staying selective is going to be the key!
As far as the Houston/Portland game goes, I just don't know enough about the psyche of the Blazers to know if this is that moment when they turn things around, or if the tailspin continues. I like Houston on paper in this one, they're just more consistent, and I hate the way the Blazers are defending lately. My favorite play was on the Over when the line opened, but now it's jumped 3 points up, so that game is probably a pass for me. What's your take? I know you're up there scrutinizing the Blazers (you and GF, our Pregame Northwest homies), and I'd love to know what you're hearing out of their base camp!
Steve! Much appreciated, man! Can't wait to get you on the program!! I mean, hell, after that job you did on Ducks/Beavers, you have 2 options the way I see it.
1) Come on the show, strut your stuff audio-style
2) Quit forever, because I think you achieved perfection :)
GREAT STUFF. Interested to see if you have a Take on the Houston at Portland pick threw in.
BTW: I'm truthfully NOT pandering one iota to add that I'm genuinely getting a good deal of insight from daily Podcast Dialogue....I'm dumping em into I-Pod, & taking advantage of all my Drive-Time Hrs \ lil' sick, but Drive-Time SportsTalk is pretty empty (cept for the 2 shows I participate w/locally, of course). Been meaning to tell you...nice work, Dan!
GOOD LUCK JOHN! Not going to be home to watch the games, so please do let me know how you do tonight!
dan, that line moved 4 points down to 204,lost to many games going with it,like the lakers game the other day,205 to 201,went210,remember because i cautioned and did'nt bet the over, still kicking myself. atlanta has lost 5 straight and 10 0f last 11 vrs dallas and last 3 of 4 overall.sac hasn't won in pho since 05 and have lost last 7 by 25 avr. port-1and 1,lost last game in houston 107-111 philly won first game at home 86 to 84 on nov 18. indy won 86 to 73 home, nov 25,probably still went over,is gordon playing? still thinking, pho, dallas, port and s.a.to bounce back
Alright, one unit on the atlanta/dallas Under.
Haha, nice win on the teaser John! Just trying to find anNBA value, but I need to leave home shortly, so I'm rushing a bit, and I never like what I come up with when I rush...
damn it man,how come i did'nt know rutgers has not beaten w.vir. in like forever, I know, learn more from one loss than like,well,50 wins, shit know now, wont forget,at least i won the teaser
hahaha,i did bet cleveland last night it was on tv,example of a c-team beating a a-team last time they played.look forward to seeing your nba picks danI really need to win on the gridion today and i think i will, remains to be seen how much, have some strong plays, keeping in mind that everything i know is wrong so i should be (all-right)
Mike loves that revenge angle, and I love the look-ahead angle, hahaha. We're a wild pair!
Today's card I think has some nice values, though with all the football comin' up, I gotta budget my time!
hey dan,see mike won some nba games with my revenge angle.the angle becomes even stronger when the c-team beats the a team the last game.watched the fourth qtr of the lakers game last night, great game won by another clutch 3-pointer by fisher and a prayer by kobe.if i had known about the recent head to head match-ups between these two teams and knowing that miamis goal this rd trip was to eliminate all the distractions ,bond together as a team and win some games, well, big bet and take a chance on the money line.im not looking to much at the nba yet, making straight bets on football to get some money back into my account but at first glance fade utah just like their box score last night and maybe the over in the s.a.,denver game and s.a straight up

The two late lines have been released, and I was almost spot on with my predictions. Of course, that means we have to work extra-hard to find the value, since the lines opened right where I capped them to open. Oh well!
You are absolutely right, John. Most folks don't get access to the super-early lines, although with NBA, the movement off the initial line isn't usually as severe as with football. Often times, we can still grab the best early line without the books adjusting first. I know, I always try to take a peek at the early lines and look for value.
I love to see how the lines move overnight, too, since the first line move is USUALLY (not always) because of sharp money. Today, for instance, I loved the Warriors getting 8 points, so I watched to see where the line moved. The public is HUGE on Orlando, and the line is moving in that direction, so if we wanted to set up a middle, we should have taken Orlando at -8 late last night, then bought GS back at 9 or 9.5 or even 10 if it gets there, today.
The best way to look for middling opportunities is to find a game with a marquee team against a no-name squad. You KNOW the public will back the team with the players they've heard of (in this case, Orlando), and usually, the line will move bit by bit as a result.
