Miami Heat @ Atlanta Hawks
I really like
the Hawks in this game. Hell, if we have instead a -3.5 line, this
would be a best bet but with 5 points in the desk this is single play.
The spot isn?t great for the Hawks as this is the first home game after
a long road trip. However we are in a special time of the season where
the tiredness doesn?t matter. What really matters is the effort, just
look for the Spurs shorthanded vs Dallas and Portland in b2b games; The
Pacers without the two top scorers or the Bucks without 3 starters
lately. My point is that the desire to win is more important than
anything and the Hawks are fired up to win this game.
They are coming from a bad road trip (1-4 in those games) and last
game against the Nuggets they lost by just one point. Note that they
didn?t quit fighting despite being without Mike Bibby and Josh Smith
and with less than one minute to go, they trailed 102-110?then they had
the final shot to win the game!
Now they return to home and they are happy to be finally at home:
?It
was a tough trip for us,? Marvin Williams said. ?We played so many good
teams. Guys played hard and fought hard. We?re excited to be back home
though. We?re in pretty good shape. Obviously, we struggled a little
bit. We didn?t finish as well as we wanted to. ? We?ve played well at
home this season and we?ve protected our home court. So it?s a chance
for us to make some moves.?
?We haven?t played great basketball on the road, but here at home,
we?ve been pretty good. And to have most of the month of March here at
home, it?s going to be big for us.?
Usually in the first home
after a road trip the teams tend to struggle, this is not the case of
the Hawks as they are Hawks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games
following a road trip of 7 or more days. Meanwhile Miami is coming for
this game with a big win last game vs Detroit winning by 12 points.
They are a good team but they struggled when faced adversity lately as
they are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog and 7-15 ATS in
their last 22 games as a road underdog of 0.5-4.5.
Surely the Hawks remember the last game against the Heat: it was
their worst game of the season! They lost 79-85 in Miami in the lowest
outcome of this season for the Hawks, in fact at the halftime the score
was 27-46 and the Hawks made only 7 assists in that game! I expect a
great effort from the Hawks to make a bounce back and at the same to
get done their revenge against the Heat. Mike Bibby and Josh Smith will
play tonight. Take Atlanta in here.
