In today's Big Conversation, Ken & RJ discuss the mere two game suspension that the NFL handed down to Ray Rice for striking his Girlfriend.
Two Games? Really?. Ken feels that the two game suspension really brings more attention to the situation then say a 4 games suspension.
Ken is sick of hearing about stuff like this. Even in the College ranks you're hearing about kids hitting their girlfriend with a closed fist. He also states that it happens on both sides, but more so with the guys.
Ken says that when he was younger a 6 ft blonde threw a crystal ashtray at him from a short distance and if it would have hit him then he would have the face for radio that he has now. LOL He responded by calling 911 and they took both away. That is how you handle a situation.
RJ feels that the guy has the right to defend himself, but in the Ray Rice case he was the aggressor to start, according to the Sheriff's dept. That should have warranted a longer suspension. Ken Feels it should have been 8 games.
In the Big Ben case nothing was proven, yet he got a 4 game suspension.
Ken feels that Roger Goodell should come out and state why it was just 2 games.
When Ray Rice is in a game it is more interesting then when he is not in the game. That may be the NFL's thinking.
RJ Wants to know if the NFL's thinking is what is the least amount of time to suspend someone that they won't catch flack. Ken states that if it was longer than 2 games then no one is even talking about this. This hurts the NFL PR wise and reputation wise and they may be costing the league more by the lesser suspension.
