so any1 startin to like san diego a little more tonight after seeing the beginning of this buffalo/ne game.. I literally told my friend a cpl hours ago that one of the DD favorites tonight was not covering and that i felt it was NE and now that buffalo is lookin mighty solid to cover their spread i just feel like this SD game is gonna be the most likely blowout... even as NE just tied the game that is..
aside from that i guess ill jus write my write-up for the second game...
I know tons of ppl are on SD and they have always been touted as a super bowl contender but norv turner has not been able to get them there year after year... however, this year is a special one for them because it is the last chance these players have on this talented a team due to the fact that LT, Merriman, Sproles, and i think cromartie are all in the last years of their contracts (maybe even chambers also)... To add to that, after their dissappointing .500 season last year they all have something to prove, (especially - cromartie, coming off a hip injury - LT, who is being doubted - and merriman, who is coming off an injury).. and if merriman is gimpy he still has a highly touted backup in larry english.. it only becomes more evident that SD needs to make a statement that they are playing a rivalry game on MNF... I do think that oakland will at first put up a good fight with their solid running game but i feel that SD eventually takes a DD lead and once jamarcus russell has to move away from the running game, he will be throwing to 2 rookie receivers in DHB (who was overrated coming out of college) and louis murphy (who was the 2nd or 3rd string on florida last year).. these two rookie WRs will be going against antonio cromartie who is possibly one of the best defenders in the game aside from ed reed and quentin jammer on the other side, who is real talented so i dont expect them to get open often.. with regards to the raiders defense, their best player in asoumougha is playing with a cast on his wrist and probably wont be able to pick off any balls due to that and seymour will be supposedly playing "extensively" with no practice whatsoever in this new defensive scheme so i see him making a few mistakes tonight..
final thoughts: oakland may be able to keep it close 1H with a good running game keeping the SD offense off the field but it will be extremely hard for them to move the ball through the air on SD and once the chargers can gain a lead and oakland has to pass more i can easily see a few turnovers giving SD the cover.. GL and ill start keeping my stats with this game..
n i didnt mention zack miller who is a very solid TE but he is also coming off an injury and can only do so much since i am sure SD will be paying particular attention to him somewhat like GB did to greg olsen last night..
comment welcome..
