Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans The Jaguars and Texans face off tonight in one of the least appealing Monday night matchups of the year. But don?t blame the schedule makers for this one. The Jaguars were supposed to make a Super Bowl push this year , just one season after beating Pittsburgh at Heinz Field in last year?s playoffs and the Texans were expected to take that next step forward going 8-8 last year and making a playoff push themselves. The Jaguars look as though they have quit on coach Jack Del Rio and Del Rio even had to bench one of his best players this year for disciplinary action. Matt Jones?s troubles are well documented and had to be a distraction and star linebacker Mike Peterson?s benching was a shining example of how far this team has fallen. Jones-Drew is not running the same, Fred Taylor is a year older, and David Garrard when not nursing injuries has been ineffective for the most part. Garrard is listed as questionable for tonight?s matchup as well. You can call
1-888-850-8211 to get his injury status on a recorded message right up till game time. Just to show how bad they could be last week they lost the 4th game in 5 in this manner ? they turned the ball over 5 times, allowed 4 sacks, missed two field goals , dropped an easy TD pass , and were flagged 8 times. That is the definition of ugly. Coach Del Rio said is was ?embarrassing?. On the other side the Texans came in with talk of taking the proverbial ?next step? and tripped over their own feet in the effort to do so. Quarterback Matt Shaub has been injured most of the season and when he was healthy he didn?t show he was ready to make a serious case for an NFL starter. Like most young QB?s he?s had his moments , but more bad than good. Shaub is out for tonight so enter Sage Rosenfels. Rosenfels led his team to a road victory at Cleveland last week having his best game since replacing Shaub, but his turnovers continued. Sage threw two picks in the second half to add his total to 8 picks against 3 TD?s in just 4 games. Rosenfels does have some bright young talent around him offensively though as Steve Slaton the West Virginia product has been running all over defenses since Ahman Green was lost early in the year and just two weeks ago was put #2 in franchise history for rushing yards in a game. Slaton like Garrard is listed as questionable and I will update his injury status as well as facts and tips on that recorded message.
1-888-850-8211 Andre Johnson the dynamic receiver is one of the quietest young talents in all of the NfL and can score on anyone at anytime. The first meeting was a 30-27 overtime win by Jacksonville and tonight I like a high scoring game as well. I?ll take the
OVER and watch the fireworks
