Underdogs in the NFL last week won 12 of 14 games against the spread. There’s been only TWO weeks since 1989 that underdogs covered an equal or higher percentage!
NFL underdogs in 2012 have covered 64% of the time. Only one other time since 1989 have underdogs covered even 60% at this point in the season.

RJ; in theory could we expect for favoryies to start covering more predominatly at the end of the year since Oddsmakers as a rule/goal is to have split results between the total amount of favorites and dogs covering or do you think that oddsmakers are just overvaluing favorites because they dont have as good a handle on the NFL this year as years past (lots of new & upcoming teams/more balanced NFL Teams)

I have been calling it "Clouded Parity". On the surface many of these games have looked like blowouts. You really need to scratch below the surface this season and will likely see that these favorites are moreso for the betting public than the actual game itself. At least, that is what I have noticed and it seems to be working. I will say that the digging is much deeper than in years past to find the intangibles that are keeping these dogs in the game. Just my $0.02 worth.
