I've always been a recreational gambler placing bets on the teams but since the college season started I've tried to pay more attention to matchups/trends/etc yet am having a tough time with the NFL.  For NCAA and MLB I'm hitting 59% and 51% respectively for + income in each.  The NFL on the other hand is killing me as I'm only 35% and in the red.  Any tips on what I'm missing - ie: is the NFL that much different than NCAA?

are most of your NFL  bets favorites?....if so try to trim those down and look for some live dogs.....favs do win and cover but if u bet high % of your bets as favs that 35% probably will not get much better...set some rules for yourself...stay away from rd favs and double digit favs in general....tough to win NFL and even tougher laying points on rd.............win and cover.....thats my 2 cents

Playing in the NFL is a job and the players will play harder in meaningfull games.  In college you only get one chance per year against a team but the NFL the goal is to make the playoffs.  Look for divisional rivals and always know who a team plays the following week to see if they are looking ahead.  Pay attention to the schedule and look for potential fatigue from travel on consecutive weeks.  In my opinion, injuries are less important in the NFL than it is in college because the back up is always a professional athlete and the drop off will be negligible.  The lines will also be tighter in the NFL and harder to find advantages.  My 2 best pieces of advice, stay away from the herd and always wear lucky underwear on Sundays.

NFL: Parity....Buy low, sell high. Dont assume scrub teams will get slaughtered. Look for home dogs that can rush and play defense.
