Top 3 in my opinion: Jim Brown, Walter Payton and Emitt Smith. And i put Emmitt up there mostly on accomplishments because had Barry Sanders had that much talent around him, he would have rush for over 20,000 yds easily so Im inclined to changed my mind and put Barry at #3.

Gale Sayers before the knee injury was probably the greatest.  Barry Sanders was one of a kind running, but could not catch nor block.  Jim Brown could put up crazy numbers in todays NFL.  I might sound crazy, but I think if Marcus Dupree stayed healthy and stayed in college he would have been the best ever.  He was the best I have ever seen on film at any level, just a complete genetic freak of nature

Stephen Nover

Spartan is right about Gale Sayers. Most dangerous runner I ever saw. I would go along with Spartan and rank Sayers, Jim Brown and Walter Payton.

you saw gale sayers live?  how old are you?

I saw Gale Sayers live as well. He was amazing and if he had stayed healthy likely would have topped the list. Oh, and by the way, I just turned 54 myself. I've met Stephen Nover and would guess him to be around my age. I met him at the Pregame offices in Vegas and he is a helluva nice guy as well as sharp handicapper.
