Everyone seemed to love Indianapolis for the SB
Do you think they will return to Indy in the next 7 years
Thoughts?
Well it just illustrated to the NFL that when you don't hold the SB in FL every year people might come to check it out. Indy did a great job, but I think once all is said and done they may not want it back for awhile. There were a lot of untelevised police and crowd issues, nothing major, but just the kind of stuff that would need better preparation in the future.
I kept hearing the same thing, but a friend in the major sports media called it a "shit show". What he said to the public was the total opposite, but told me it "sucked there".

I beg to differ. I have lived here In Indy all of my life. Not being a homer, I overheard countless conversations within the SB festivities that this was a major win for Indy. Even the head representative from NFL had nothing but rave reviews about the host City this year. Everything was compacted within an 8 block radius vs last year, for example, everything was spread out over a 2 mi radius. And next year, I'm predicting people will have some complaining about having to deal with New York City and all it's "metro-mess". Just like anything else, there will always be a select few "haters" who have an opposite opinion. But hey, can't please everyone. You have to keep in mind, this is the first time for Indy to be the host and there will also be some kinks that would be avoided the next time around.
I think he was just anti-Indy as he hated the shrimp at Elmos. When I was an investigator at Ford I was down there for meetings with the Visteon people and they took us there to eat. I thought it was a great time.
Indy came through big time! It was a nice party around town/open brews/Ram Brewery/St Elmo's all good/The Chamber of Commerce could not have ordered better weather for early February. Indy proved it is no cow town now.
It's time to bring it out to the Los Angeles Coliseum and then announce at halftime the new NFL franchise that will take residence there.
In the next 10 years indy will have another one. Prof. Donkey, that would be great marketing, but an NFL team going back to the Colisuem can't work. This coming from a Notre Dame fan residing in Los Angeles that attends, at minimum, 4 of the 6 home games for USC, ( family and friends are alumni). Seeing 80 or so thousand a week trash the campus is horrible. Back to back home games for USC and pending NFL team probaly would be a disaster, not to mention the beating that great monument would take. A few miles away at LA live is the supposed ideal location for a new, " state of the art" stadium, at the moment being spearheaded by Farmers Insurance group i think. Also, as a die hard Cubs fan, i understand the importance of preserving a legendary sports cathedral. im pretty sure im ramblin' now so ill stop. Nothing but Love for the Pregame Community. Peace...
If they start excavation in the downtown area, I get my metal detector out there and work the area on the weekends when the workers aren't there. It always produces a treasure trove of old coins and other artifacts. Right now they are digging a railroad trench across the street from Mission San Gabriel and stuff dating back to the old Spanish mission days is being found ! A lady found a Spanish coin dated 1781.
no shit ??? i know that area. grew up in pico now live in la mirada. might have to stop by a big 5 on my way out there.i remember those quarries in Irwindale where being talked about for a stadium site. sure you can dig something up in there.
