  • Yea this a hole has always rubbed me the wrong way. Arrogant prick.

  • is this true though or just a rumour?

  • Forum poster Richard Mayfield and I were in Vegas and witnessed the same thing with Reggie Jackson one night at the Mirage some years back. The guy was a total creep to some people who were being very respectful and polite to him.

  • even though i do not dispute athletes can be pricks, but how would you like it every single time u were out or trying to relax people constantly wanted pictures and autographs. i know the initial comeback is part of the game, but they are paid to perform on the field not eat their dinner cold because they give out 100 autographs.

  • Terry Bradshaw did the same to me when I asked him to sign something for my kids.  I believe it was our ticket stubs.  He was a prick and refused, however 5 hours later at LAX when he's standing at the wrong luggage terminal for 20 minutes I walked over and told him he was in wrong line, then he signed the stubs.  But was a real prick to that point!  I wont dispute athletes are paid to perform but the  NFL is more about entertainment anymore than a sport. (PERIOD)!!

  • I'm with Johnny here. When I was much younger I had a similar experience with Reggie Jackson. I asked for an autograph as we were walking out of a MLB game in Cleveland. He politely said he couldn't because if he stopped he would never be able to leave the stadium since others would soon follow and ask for the same thing. While I was disappointed, he took the time to explain the situation and I fully understood.

I've had the opportunity to speak to a lot of celebrities in social settings such as movie premiers and charities and the vast majority have been very polite with their time.

Keep in mind the situation and the setting before you jump to conclusions. Some celebrities are A-Holes but so is a percentage of the general population.

Money management, line shopping and reading the betting markets are just as important as picking the right side.

  • Totally understand that, that's exactly why I give them the benefit of the doubt 99% of the time. Trust me on this one, it's one of those you had to be there instances. The guy was a prick and the people who came up could not have been more polite and respectful. They did not even ask for an autograph or to have a photograph taken. One gentlemen simply stated that Jackson had always been a hero to him and it was a pleasure to see him.Jackson simply looked him in the eye and told him to get lost, who did he think he was to come up and speak to him. I was sitting just a couple of feet away and head it all and I'm not embellishing. It was appalling. Like I mentioned, I generally give them the benefit of the doubt for reasons you stated. In my view this was over the line.

  • Spartan,

In that case I agree. Over the top wrong.
