Each week though the NFL regular season I provided a free release for the forum. I have one also for this upcoming weekend in the conference title games. During the regular season the record with these free selections ended up a 11-5, 68% winners.
I am going to suggest a small wager this sunday on the UNDER 50.5 in the Steelers and Patriots game. After viewing the earlier game this one is likely to look like a couple of Clydesdales chugging around Churchill Downs in comparison to what me could see down in the Georgia Dome between the Packers and Falcons. And that is in no way a slam or slight to either the Steelers or the Patriots. Just going to be more of a "normal" football game. For being who they are and considering their stature it is kind of a shock that these two future hall of fame quarterbacks in the entire careers to this point have only done battle once in the playoffs. Clearly both these teams have weapons but to me this total is a tick high. Hard to ignore the stubborn fact that this Steelers defense has surrendered only twenty eight points though the first two playoff games. Yes, I acknowledge that Miami and the Chiefs were not exactly prolific offenses but the Steelers will bring it sunday. On the flip side we have the Patriots who allowed the fewest amount of points in the regular season. It is my opinion that unless there are some special team scores and freaky turnovers leaving red zone short fields the under will cash here more often than not. And I do expect the Patriots to give, or try to give the Steelers a healthy dose of Blount and control TOP.
Now, this is a free release. This is not a huge play for me. But I do consider it a quality free release. As my record with these has shown over the years I do not just toss out free plays loosely in the NFL.
On the business side I have two things to mention. I have a 2-0 mark this post season to date with my Playoff Triple star releases. That is solid, but I am most proud of the fact I have now hit on 22 of my last 27 Playoff Triples, 81% winners. I pick my spots and I feel very, very confident I have another one loaded for this sunday. Now, the other thing I want to mention is I have had absolute buzzards luck with college hoops this past week. I cannot recall a time when so many games went down in the final moments. With any reasonable luck we could have flipped this thing and been on a great run. But for a couple of days I am going to pump the brakes on college hoops. I have never seen so many games go down at the same time by a point here, a point there. If I need free throws the last minutes my teams look like blind men up there laying bricks. Sometimes it is best to step back and just let things clear a little. There are two options when you hit a spell like that. Acknowledge it and deal with it, or you can ignore it. I refuse to do the latter. These things happen to everyone who has ever bet on sports, we all know it. But it is never any fun. Ever. So just wanted to address that. No college from yours truly for a couple of days/
Okay, some great match ups this weekend. Four stud QB's and I expect some outstanding football. Enjoy and best of luck guys.
