Clearly, San Diego is getting the benefit of the doubt about their Special Teams. If you consider how poor that part of their team has performed, it seems unlikely that they will continue this sloppy play. If you remove their blunders on ST, you could argue that they would be undefeated or at least 4-1. Their early season 'soft' schedule was set up for them to come racing out of the gates.
In KC they gave up a punt return TD and tons of extra yardage.
In Seattle, they gave up a kickoff and punt return for TD.
In OAK, they gave up two punt blocks, back to back, one for a TD and the other for safety.
Just crazy. It will be interesting to see how they play away against St. Louis. Clearly, the public still loves the Chargers to cover that number away from home, while their record shows the opposite.
