The benefits of teasing NFL games early in the week, and Great Owl’s early line beater NFL teaser plays for TW
As reminded again last nite, after going 4-1 on my five teasers with Seattle to -2.5, all of which I won by a half point, losing only the side/total teaser to the Over (unfortunately the one I posted in this forum yesterday), and being rewarded by waiting for a -9.5 on Seattle so I could tease Seahawks to -2.5 rather then -3, a big part of winning in the NFL is playing into good lines, including “teasing” into good lines. And a little luck sent our way in last nite's final moments by the "zebras" and Bettina, the “bitch goddess of wagering,” didn’t hurt, either/LOL.
As we get further into the season, and the public becomes increasingly influenced by the recent play of the teams, especially the good and bad ones, jumping on the games we like most (those involving the teams we want to play on and/or teams we want to play against) early in the week, when the lines are still “friendly” for what we want to do, becomes increasingly important. And while we don’t want to rush into “straight bets” on or against teams early in the week just to get a friendly line, before we have completed handicapping the game, and when we don’t yet have a good sense of which players listed as ???? on the early injury reports will actually play or sit out in their games later this week (although we have a pretty good idea of the status of any key players, and can avoid teasing any games where the playing status of one or more key players is in doubt, like Thursday’s Indy –Hous game, where Colts “franchise” QB Andrew Luck is still listed as ???), we have a 6-7 point “cushion” with a teaser in case our numbers are a bit “off,” or there is a surprise or two with updates on the playing status of those ??? players, in a game that we tease. Another added bonus of teasing early in the week is that we often get to tease a couple of teams at very friendly lines but high odds (e.g., a team that is -3 but at -130 odds rather than -3.5/-110 or 105), knowing that when we tease a team, all that we have to be concerned about is the line for that team, not the odds for a “straight” play on them.
Even though I don’t see any game on TW’s NFL card that just “jumps out” at me as an obvious “play on” or “play against,” I just played two early line beater NFL teaser plays, one of them a 4 teamer at +250 teaser odds, where I’m again playing into good lines - check out BOTH of these FREE early week line beater NFL teaser plays on my web site.
Hopes this helps, and BOL this week, guys.
