Couldnt agree more. What an error. Was thinking how in terms of basketball it could relate as far as just the play. I ponder a team down one point, the losing team steals the ball at midcourt all alone, (time running out mind you, but plenty of time) 6...5...4, instead of taking an uncontested layup to win the game he jacks up a 3 pointer and airballs it out of bounds. 1 yard? Ya got a freak of an athlete that perhaps spikes his skittles with PCP, (jokey joke) and ya dont give him the pigskin to win the game? That play was a recipe for disaster, literally the worst playcall imaginable. Too congested, how often do you see that kinda play near the goal line get picked? Deflection/bouce off WR/defense. That Rook made an incredible play ill give him that. 2 straight runs and possibly 3 unless your no longer on the 1yd line. Got the timeout in your back pocket if need be, I would say for the fourth down call if it came to that. Time situation really wasnt an issue. Running it twice in a row there would not have chewed up the rest of the clock where you would'nt have been able to use that timeout for a final play. Cant fathom that call. Oh well, thats sports for ya. So many things you can look at disect and question but was a heck of a game, but with a double dragon style kick to the nuts ending for us Seattle backers.
