The Mysterious Dave Malinsky Joins the show every Monday at the bottom of the hour and today he talks all things Super Bowl.
He begins talking about deflategate. Dave feels that there will be zero impact on the field because of the controversy. He does go on to state that the Pats have had Zero fumbles at home this year and if talk radio really dug into that they would see that maybe the balls have been deflated in their home games this year, because it is easier to hold on to the ball if it is deflated. Hmmmm
Dave feels that when handicapping the Pats for the Big Game, Deflategate should not be entered as a factor.
Teddy isn't so sure about that. Yes it may not have an impact of defensive players or OL of Running backs, but it should have an impact on the way the Pats prepare for the game, because over the year they have always seemed to come up with the right scheme for the big games, but has all the distractions taken away from preparing for the game kike Belichick usually does? Preparing is an edge that the Pats have also had, but that may hurt them some here.
Dave feels that Bill did address that over the weekend and did some work getting ready for that, but from here on out it should not be a factor in his prep time.
On to Turnovers. The Teams hat has held the TO edge is the Super Bowl is 36-3 SU all time. That's an incredible stat.
Dave feels that TOs are hard to handicap because so many fluky elements go into them, but he also states that New England has always been consistently good when it comes to TOs. The are +91 in TO Ratio over the last 5 plus year.
Why are TOs more impactful in the Super Bowl? RJ feels that maybe emotion in the Super Bowl could be a big part of that, game along with the fact that there have been many blowouts in the superbowl.
Dave states that the theory in this matchup is the DBs are better than the receivers and we have two teams that do not turn it over all that much, which will keep the variance down and keep this a close matchup.
Two props to look at are biggest lead by either team Under 13.5 and no team will score more than 3 times in a row.
