Your move, St. Louis.
Big news according to the Los Angeles Times, which has reported that current Rams owner Stan Kroenke has announced plans to build a stadium in Inglewood. If this is a shopworn refrain that’s been heard too many times over the past couple of decades, there’s one big difference this time. Kroenke already owns enough land to support building a new stadium along with ample parking.
According to all the reports I’ve read, the entire LA project would be privately funded. Meanwhile, Kroenke is embroiled in a battle with St. Louis over renovations to the Jones Dome, with the two sides approximately $575 million apart. The Rams have a very lengthy lease in St. Louis. But they can convert this to a year to year setup if they’re unable to come to an agreement on the current stadium upgrade.
I have to think Los Angeles is now a favorite to get the Rams back after all these years. It’s really a pretty logical conclusion based on the fact Kroenke already has ownership of the required land, he’s got some issues with St. Louis, and simply stated, Los Angeles is going to get an NFL franchise back soon. Kroenke is a man who gets what he wants, and it sure sounds like he wants to have the Rams in LA.
Do you hope the Rams move to LA?
