The NFL Stock watch is a regular Friday feature on First Preview.
Teddy starts it off by selling high on the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are 6-2 on the year, but their defense is starting to get exposed. They are not generating any pass rush or turnovers. Also problematic for the Cowboys is having Tony Romo with a bad back. He sees nothing but trouble from a team that hasn't handled pressure in the past. Teddy says if you blindly fade them in their last 8 games you will make money in the end.
Dave is looking to sell on the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts, like the cowboys have taken what they have and maxed it out, plus have had a favorable schedule so far. They have mostly been playing from ahead this year, which has allowed them to just run the ball late in games. But last week they played from behind and only ran the ball 7 times in the game and ended up getting blown out. Dave doesn't feel that their second half of the season will be as good as the first half.
Teddy's buy team is the Chicago Bears, who are coming off a bye week. they went into the bye with many defensive injuries, but are coming out of it with many players coming back. The offense needs to cut down on the TOs, but this offense is still perfect for Cutler, plus their 2nd half schedule is not all that tough. Teddy says keep an eye on the Bears down the stretch.
Be sure to read Dave's Point Blank column every day.
Dave has the Skins on his bye list. The Skins tandem of McCoy and Cousins lead the league in yards per pass, and now they get Griffin back. The Skins WR corps has been awesome this year and they lead the NFL in yards after the catch (YAC). If they can do that with McCoy and Cousins then they should have the same success with Griffin. Watch out for the skins down the stretch.
